People use to forgot Propellerheads because its almost close, but in ios We we can use something as a plug.
Also Roland will grow a lot, and yamaha done his axn1 real close.
Some good new developers started with ios and they are migrating to other OSs with great synths... The fx are still poor.
Sorry for the fight with autocorection in portuguese:crazy:

My Top 20 List Would Be:

    FXpansion
    IK Multimedia (Amplitube)
    Eventide
    Native Instruments
    FabFilter
    Xfer Records
    Brainworx
    Cableguys
    iZotope
    Voxengo
    Slate Digital
    Spectrasonics
    Sugar Bytes
    u-he
    Lexicon
    D16 Group
    Toontrack
    GForce
    ohmboyz
    Klanghelm

I think if they only made ONE good plugin that doesn't make them developers. They just got lucky making one really good unique plug. So that counts out illformed, lennar, reFX, and some others for me.

That list has nothing to do with Splice.com internally making a Top-20 of their choice. The list is automatically generated and updated quarterly on its own based on usage from tracks submitted by artists/producers and labels. So, if in most of the tracks submitted most producers where using Massive as an example, then N.I. came on top for that specific period of time.
You can also see that they also have a quarterly usage graph of each plugin, separately on that plug's info page.
Since Splice is mainly Electronic/Dance based then that list is not surprising at all. Anything N.I./Sylenth1/ReFX and Dada Life (Yeah! Sausage Fattener) are still some of the most used among EDM, IDM or whatever EM producers which makes the core of Splice.com.

reFX shouldn't definitely be in that list...

Lennar Digital just created ONE great synth.. but just one... and the legit users are ranting because they feel abandoned, no updates, no nothing. So the key is, what means a TOP developer?

    Arturia is missing though...
They have the best vintage synth emulations.

On top of all said before, I vote for Melda Production. They haven't reinvented the wheel, but their plugins are good and affordable.

My top developers: Universal Audio, Slate Digital, U-He, Melda, Klanghelm, XLN Audio, Native Instruments, Soundtoys, Cytomic. Some others may have fallen off the cracks.

I wish everybody on this thread could realize that Splice doesn't make a Top 20 of their own; NO, they didn't choose those plugs like I was trying to point to Mr_Anime above.

If you are a user of Splice and understand how the site works then it is quite easy to see that the Top 20 is referring to the amount of time specific plugins appear on submitted tracks/projects for a certain period of time. So, that "Top 20" is generated based on the plugins used by the producers/artists and labels which sent the track in.
Example: for KSHMR/Tiesto and Vassy - Secrets. You can not just only see the whole project but also a list and description of each plugs used in it. When you download and open that project, you need those plugs just like you'd use an Abletunes project.
Overtime Splice just count how many times each plugins appear on each submitted project and it gets ranked; so it is based on real-time data of what most of these Electronic producers submitting tracks to Splice are actually using most.

Pretty much the reason some of your favorite plugs are not listed or are listed in the low end is simply because the user base and producers/artists submitting these tracks are not using those plugs (at least not in the project they send to Splice).

Yes I Know how Splice Works , and that means that the most plugins that been used in the projects Are Dominated by Native instruments and that shows that most producers buys Native Instruments Products

I agree Only with 3 of the list:

    Native Instruments
    Waves
    Lexicon

and I would add IK Multimedia

    - NI for midi instruments
    - Waves (just a small part of it - SSL) for some EQ and Compression
    - Lexicon for reverb
    - IK Multimedia (Amplitube) for Amp sims

this is no professional opinion... I am using them just to lay down some ideas on the fly
For any "serious" recordings or playing, I use analog gear.

For me such a list would be a personal one...as a sound physician one must be master of one-self...thereby such a list would be defined by such a sound physician...for en external source to govern such a decision would be commercial stimulus of the masses.
