When new limiters appear with "ultra-transparent, invisible, no distortions/aliasing, very loud with +1dB RMS and saved headroom, with oversamplings, extreme inter-sample technologies, attacks/transient savings, no pumping" etc. I think that Loudness Wars won't stop...never...only will be continued... What would be if FabFilter Pro-L2, DMG Audio Limiter, Invisible Limiter 2 appear????

yeah i am no fan over these super loud ear splitting mixes that you get nowadays (not just because i can't achieve it myself!). i just use a limiter for practical purposes and maybe a bit of a volume boost. i like dynamic range so i think i don't need anything more than a daw's built in limiter to be honest. unless this gets a waves style 80% mega sale i probably won't get it.

Hmm, they do have sales - after Xmas I seem to remember. I'm attracted by the user friendly angle - as mentioned above the newer T-Racks stuff is up there with the best. I'm trying to force myself to allow 10 db dynamic range on masters, but when I think of a track going on at a street party in SA or somewhere - I just know it's going to hit harder and better if I crank it that touch - nothing too extreme, just so I feel it's up there with the current crop

Still i'm not sure how is this going to be even better than Invisible Limiter which for me was the holy grail of limiters.

yes, it is loud. But it is as "softer than just clipping". I did test with just adding +xx dB on master fader and +xx dB on Invisible limiter. Invisible limiter is same just a bit smoother, oversampling can save more audio quality than just clipping/no oversampling limiting. With oversampling more "analog-like" limiting (less digital aliasing, more accurate peak/transient limiting).
But Elephant 4 is more adjustable. Can be loud as well.
IMHO limiters/maximizers should be aggressive but adjustable to be smoother and transparent as well, not just "smoother hard clipping". Kazrog KClip is accurate clipper. KClip offers less aliasing and distortion than other limiters/maximizers. But it is improvinig and fixing for now to get less inter-sample overshoots..

Invisible Limiter by AOM is 119$ lifetime license, so... i guess it's not a part of their "competitors" comparison. I would've test the limiters myself but i don't wanna Sign Up on IKMultimedia.

  13. If invisible Limiter actually works better than IKis newest offering in ahead to head competition there is no way that they would come anywhere close to bringing it up to potential customers. The Loudness War too is built upon propaganda and the absolute truth is in the line of fire and the first to meet inevidable doom. "Why do predidents go to war, why do they always send the poor?" (Tool talking about killing rock and roll, hmmmm).

It seems interesting but... I prefer my Toneboosters TB Barricade (~€20) and vlag-sound Limiter n6 (...not so easy to use but I trust the quality staff like that). :drummer::chilling:

  15. Limiter n6 is brilliant however tricky for the novice, but once you play with it for a while you can make your track shine. Threre are a few different gui choices, Russian, easy and more invovled.

Yup, Limiter 6 is nice – IF you know what you're doing :D Found a great looking Skin (called ENV1) for it - beautiful.

I think my favorite is McDSPs ML 4000 which is more like a Multiband Comp with a Limiter Stage t the end. I just use it to control the different bands and polish it up a bit. Works perfect for me.

I actually don't understand this fuzz about this loudness thing.
the limiter on my master bus is about what sounds good and gets adjusted by taste
for me, it has nothing to do with how loud other tracks are and it never has been.
