my bud used to have 2 two inch EVs speakers in his hood ride and they used to almost make me go deaf .

i was wondering if anyone liked them or hated them and their products and why or why shouldn't a person go for their stuff .

I don't know about their Electro Voice products cause i never used it
(I won't judge their products cause i don't like to ruin someone else business)

I will give an alternative go see Kenwood OR Alpine OR Pioneer

For me Personally I use JBL CX Series

I love EV especially the microphones.
EV RE20 is awesome on kick drums, i also like them on brass, you'll find many good music venues will have at least 1/2 re20's

you'll find them used a lot as vocal microphones as well mainly for radio stations.

have used EV p.a's a few years ago pretty good quality as well.

  5. If the EV RE20 was the only microphone in the world it wouldn't be a terrible thing.

My experience with speakers ---live sound---1st choice: JBL. 2nd choice: EV. (talking pro series here) Two of the most durable and efficient loudspeakers and compression drivers out there, with big heavy coils/magnet assemblies. And I currently use an N/D767a as my personal main vocal mic live on stage. The RE series mics are known to be almost as durable as Shure SM57 and SM58s. (you can drive nails with those, but don't. And they make a good cudgel, depends on the gig. lol) EV-- along with Altec-Lansing--later JBL--was at the beginning of modern sound tech, which started with sound recording and re-enforcement for the film industry. So they probably know a few things about a few things.
