this upgrade process is suxx.
I tryed to craete a system image of my current version of 8.1,,... failed
I tryed Macrium reflect to clone the drive. failed to boot

Is there a way to just create a prepaired iso somehow on my existing system without upgrading it? so that I can install w10 on a new drive ?

just one question: if I clean install Win10 on a brand new HDD, formatted, what product key will it ask me? if I do not have any version of Windows pre-installed...neither on other machines..

ok, right. and if I am updating from let's say Win 8.1, where I can find my product key? is it somewhere in the pc settings/control panel? or is it just on the Windows DVD (wich I do not have)???

 

FPS-wise, that's kinda a lot of difference. Hopefully we'll see that kind of improvements in the DAWs performance as well.

 

I have a car which is driving very smoothly, never lets me down and looks pretty ok.
My car is called Windows 7.
But now there is this new car with some issues: It doesn't run smootly, some buttons on the dashboard aren't working and
my 19 inch wheels that I love don't fit!
But hey! It looks very good, maybe better than my old car and everybody is talking about it!
This new shiny car is called windows 10.
I'm sold, let me be a simple-minded, susceptible to marketing talk person and get it!

i have never found any Win upgrade easy.... but we are looking forward to nice finished Win10 for our office laptop.

I don't intend to be an ass, but i think you went a bit on the "hypocrisy" side. Let's face it, XP People said the same about Win7 back then, isn't it?
Windows 10 it's not just a "sold as brand new" skin. You know that you can actually skin a Windows7 to look like Windows10, but it still won't feel the same. Also, all the mass-media websites would've got the chance to bash Windows10 in an extreme fashion if Windows10 would've really been just a shallow "marketing talk" product as you made it look like based on your perspective.

Coming from Xp and Vista, i fell like home when the first Win7 Release Candidate was released. And surprisingly it didn't have bugs or problems, and performed even better than final versions. i'll be happy if it is possible to disable all the new feature from Win10, I would trash them all like notification center and tablet GUI. Just look at the start button in Win8, it's just feel too weird and awkward without it. MS was forced by users to bring it back, I'm pretty sure that they remove all this eye candy stuff in the next releases...

 

Anyone tried Cubase 5 on W10 ?

 

So.. anything that uses Quicktime is screwed on Win 10?

Cinema 4D HAS to have Quicktime for many features, Something i use all day everyday..

Can someone confirm the reliability or usage of Quicktime in Win 10 aside from Cubase \ Daws.
