Tried ST3 for the first time..

Hey Guy,Is it me or in your mind, does ST3 Library sound lame ,artificial Sounding to you?..

This pack doesn't even come close to kontakt or Omnisphere sound Library..

I may use the 30gig HD space for some other..

Thoughts?

it's better to use omnisphere or kontakt libraries
i tried it and delete some of that library but i kept the guitars

you can't compare it to omnisphere and kontakt libraries
it's also a matter of taste & need

if you making hip hop or R&B Genre it's good for that but if you into scoring and classic music go with kontakt libraries

It has "bread and butter" sounds.

You want an acoustic bass? there it is. Violin? there it is.

It doesn't aim for that wow factor that omnisphere has, with sampletank you're supposed to mix the wow in yourself.

Yeah it is more artificial, but probably with a reason. Is all in one package for people to have almost everything they need from one package. But to use most sounds from one library or package, they need to be preprocessed to have same sound flavor to sit better in the mix together. That may cause some instruments sound better or less artificial than other. But hey now you ask yourself, it is matter? I say only and really only there, where you need recreate or produce something, that normal is and should be played with real instruments. Specially today when most songs don't sound near realistic, but goal is to sound very exciting. For example EDM, Pop, most Rock, Hip hop and so on? There is nothing realistic there. Every sound is so heavily processed and become artificial later in process, that really don't matter if source sounds aren't realistic as real world counterparts. At least in 80% cases i will not worry about that.

 

yeah i liked sampletank fist, but it quickly fades away, its a massive 30gb install on ur machine and u end up using a few sounds anyway. nowadays i only use addictive keys/drums, dune2, serum,spire, rolands.

tested all presets, all deleted.
The samples are awfully done, IK must put Amplitube in it and make a good presets and contract experts.
Even in the early days of sampling this do not worth. A shame for IK

 

ST3 is affordable. The overall size is heavy (30-40 gigs), but each intruments is light on the CPU....indeed the sound is thin, but with some effects they can get better. When you want to do a fast demo, I think it is a good library to have, it also reminds me of the Garritan instruments.
