I will not enter into Protools war (too much to say...)
But one thing is for sure : this version is SO limited it is TOTALLY useless.

At least, when there was M-Audio soundcard + Protools M Powered, it was useable AND compatible with PT family.

They try to push, at the same time :
-cloud
-internet connection
-market/store*
-rental
...

But who will use it ? ppl learning will use BETTER free/cheap/warez.. DAWs.
And professionals will just don't care about anything so stripped down.

They want to hook semo-pro ppl, but on the cheap...and so, it will not work. Because semi-pro ppl already know what those limitations implies.
I call it (almost) free advertising for Avid, not hook for superior versions. And behind this version, you see what will happen to other Protools (cloud, mandatory internet connection, market ONLY to buy plugs, everything "rental model"...)

It is going to be fun...for non-Protools users

 

If you need to learn pro tools for work or something like that, pt first could be usefull.
But this really is the only use I can think of.
