    Hi,

Just wondering if someone could help me with my predicament? I am running Cubase 6 on windows 7 64 bit. I installed the Fabfilter bundle and chose which of the plugins I wanted. I placed the vst2 plugs into my bridged VST folder and these plugs work without problem. However, I am having licensing issues with the VST3 plugs.

The VST3 files ended up in Programs/Fabfilter so I took them out and put them in Programs/Steinberg/Cubase 6/VST3. I have patched all the required VST's (vst2 & 3) using the keygen. I then open up Cubase and can see the VST3 files but when I add the generated license it says I should restart Cubase and the plug will be available for use. However, when I reopen Cubase and use the VST3 Fabfilter plugs I am asked again for the license.

Can anyone shed some light on this please? As I said, the vst2 FF plugs work so all is not lost but would rather use the vst3 plugs so I can access more ram.

    Cheers

    VST3 folder should be this---> C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

Have you patched the correct vst3??

    check "C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3"

this is standart folder for cubase and it will always scan in there too. if you have placed vst3 in other directories + initial installed files are placed there too.. this can be your issue..

    cheers

EDIT : Mostwest was to fast for me^^

Are there no cracked (not keygenned) FabFilter Plug-Ins available for PC?
That's the reason why I prefer genuine cracks:
    – no hassling with licenses, keygens, additional hacks and files
Proper cracks are much easier to install and use!

Cracks are not preferable for a lot of protection systems particularly those that involve timebombs.

Thanks for quick responses guys. I will check my PC when back home. I hooe the path is the issue, however this would mean I would have four vst folders! Here's the ones I know about:

    Programs/Steinberg/VST Plugins :- for vst3 plugs

    Programs/Steinberg/VST Plugins (bridged) :- for vst2 plugs

    Programs/Steinberg/Cubase 6/VST3 :- well, for vst3, obviously!

The only folder I have added personally is the bridged vst folder which was recommended by Steinberg following installation of Cubase 6. Seems a bit strange to have so many plug in folders. Is there a reason for so many folders? I can understand the bridged folder but why so many vst3 folders? I know theoretically I could have loads of them and just point Cubase in their direction but it is not doing my OCD any good! Lol.

    default location for vst3 should be C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

you may have another dll already sitting there that has not been registered

don't you just hate vsts trying to install themselves into steinberg folders by default? :snuffy:

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

As you have said, there is indeed a VST3 folder in Common Files and once I patched these files everything works! Hopefully this will help other idiots like me.

Btw, so I take it from now on I should install third party VST3 files in Common Files/VST3 as opposed to Programs/Steinberg/VST Plugins?

    Thanks again.

@ Kookaboo i think there was a older version from R2R
that needed no keygen you just had to install them and they worked but forget what version this was
and someone did a prepatched setup on az a while back that installed all the plugins in one go what was handy
but they copyed the code from R2R's patched plugins and got a ear bashing over it lol

@ Tenbob you will also find a copy of the plugins in your Fabfilter folder
C:\Program Files\ or C:\Program Files x86 you can delete these as ther just taking up space on your hd

Thanks Momo, was actually going to ask about that Fab Filter folder in Program Files. This is where I originally took the VST3 plugs from and put them in the VST3 folder in the Cubase 6 folder, before finding out about Common Files. So, safe to delete all these then?

if you want to check ,delete them but dont remove them from the recycle bin
start up your daw and make sure there's a copy still on the plugin list,
you should keep the fab one and two exe and dll if you use them as stand-alone,
dont know why they install a other copy there as they wont ever be used ?

I know, very strange. Deleted all but the vst3 in common files and can still view and use in Cubase. Will only be using in my DAW so that's fine.
