Hi i just wonder what do you guys use as a spectrum analyzer

i only use the ones that comes with the DAW..
Its not that Bad and it works fine..
But maybe there could be that works much better and wonder what guys do you Use..


and Anyone here uses Dual monitor for that kind of task??
i just imagine its such a breeze if you could work such for a separate monitor each
( if the DAW supports it )

So, I take it you don't use the TrueRTA anymore SAiNT? Is the Roger Nichols version really better? I need a good oscilloscope that has a functioning trigger that stops the display from scrolling horizontally. The TrueRTA version somehow refuses to do it. Any ideas?

 

I use the default one in Nuendo, never fails

 

Me too it´s working like a charm i heard some people saying the old version is better i´m not sure i think they both good (i have booth installed)
But i try to rely on my ears more then the eyes altough in the low frequencys it´s better to use a spectrum analyzer

 

Voxengo span's a good one http://www.voxengo.com/press/175/....I use various analyzers, The above mentioned Inspector's simply the bollox you change between graph and spectral views etc, which I find helpful. I use span too generally for initialy picking samples....Alse the s(M)exoscope http://bram.smartelectronix.com/plugins.php?id=4 which again is a supurb plug IMO!!!!

thanks for this, I usually use either Ableton's spectrum or the MOTU 828mk3 Cue FX analyzers... work like a charm but will give this one a try SAiNT

I like Voxengo SPAN, S(m)exoscope/Fre(a)koscope and TT dynamic range meter. All free.

 

For me, nothing comes close to Pinguin Audio Meter. I´ve used all of the above and I can´t get used to the poor resolution, latency issues, etc. Check it out and share your thoughts. I´d really like to know if I´m missing something.

 

I've used SPEAR a couple of times. It's quite different from the usual stuff, but can be quite nice to see how a sound was build up in order to recreate it with synthesizers. It's really good actually and best of all, it's free!

 

I can't work without Waves PAZ. Nasty habit - almost like mixing with my eyes.
