I have to agree with you on that. I own the full versions of both and honestly, My Logic Pro X and Pro Tools 12 HD are still both my go-to DAW's for 80% of my musical projects. Cubase Pro 8 generally speaking isn't quite as much my cup of tea as much as Logic and Pro Tools. And if I had to narrow it down to one, I'd say Logic Pro X takes the cake rather easily. *yes*

 

Wow nice to see a price reduction for this over priced buggy software. Yes I do like cubase but that does not stop the fact that is is buggy.

Ive worked with ProTooks Logic and Cubase , still like Cubase the best. considering Both Logic & Pro Tools are run on a proprietary system mainly ( IE MACs) Cubase#s challenge of working on the myriad of different configurations of PC. i can build a better PC then Apple can build a mac. I've tried them all Ill stick with Cubase.

I still maintain the best DAW is the one that works best for you and your particular work flow.

 

I've used the three but love working in Cubase...... Logic is MAC only and Protools is also buggy as hell, as least on PC. The sale is a great deal considering all that you get it.

Cubase 8 Pro kicks *ss......!

 

Bought Artist 8 used for 130 Euros recently. Now 140 for the update to Pro and I get the VAT back, so only 120. 250 for Cubase Pro 8 is NICE! Well, I could also have tried to buy it as EDU through a student friend. That would be 300 Euros - 50, so exactly the same.

 

the fact that Steiny is discounting updates to 8 pro just tells me 8.5 is on the horizon ... and i sure to update will be another 99 euros. ;/

Doesn't seem to be 30% off when upgrading from Cubase Pro 6. Was £146 a couple of months ago amd still is.

 

I have two e-licensers. Does anyone know if I could upgrade to cubase artist 8 and keep the license on the first one, and then upgrade from cubase artist to pro and keep the pro license on a second e-licenser ?

Also, does anyone have a spare serial number from steinberg products like soundcards, cmc controllers, etc that I could use for this upgrade ?

Totally agree about the pc built have tried most DAW:s but tends to use Cubase and Reaper most i would really like to have some time and learn Samplitude as i believe its the best DAW especially if you do alot of audio editing.

No, because at the end you only have one license, your license will evolve to a Cubase Artist 8 and then the same license will become a Cubase Pro 8.
