So, I'm still seeing people getting errors, and as I installed it without any problem showing up during and after the install, here's an in-depth tutorial.

NOTE: I already had Omnisphere 1.5.4 installed, and had no problem during the installation, it actually overwrites the files in STEAM, but if you want to make sure, run the program as admin.

    1st Step: Required Downloads
DVDs: Spectrasonics.Omnisphere.2.DVDR.D1.PROPER-R2R and D2 to D8 DYNAMiCS version.
    Keygen: Spectrasonics.Omnisphere.v2.0.Patch.and.Keygen.Only-R2R.

    2nd Step: Installation
Open the folder named "Step 1 - Installer", then inside that, open the "Windows" folder and double-click on "Omnisphere 2 Installer"
It will ask you to insert the DVD. In order to do so, use an ISO mounting program (I have Daemon Tools)
Mount the D1 ISO release from R2R, when the content from that DVD has been installed, it will ask you for Omnisphere B, mount the D2 ISO release from DYNAMiCS and so on. (C = D3, D = D4, E = D5...)
    Wait until the installation ends.

    3rd Step: Data Update
Open "Step 2 - Data Updater" folder, then open "Windows" folder, and double-click on "Omnisphere 2 Data Updater". This will be fast.

4th Step: Trilian and Bob Moog patches
In case you have Trilian or Bob Moog Tribute Library installed, open "Step 3 - For Trilian Users" if you have Trilian, "Step 4 - For Moog Tribute Users" if you have Bob Moog Tribute Library.
If you have both, then obviously open up both in numerical order. Go inside "Windows" folder and double-clik on the installer file.

    5th Step: Using R2R's tool
Assuming you already downloaded "Spectrasonics.Omnisphere.v2.0.Patch.and.Keygen.Only-R2R", extract it where you want.
    Double-click on "Spectrasonics_2048_KeyGen"
You will now see an interface with 2 text boxes and 3 buttons, which are "Patch", "Generate" and "Exit".
Click on "Patch" and point the program to the place you have installed the VST files to. Patch both the 32 bit and the 64 bit version. To do so, select the "Omnisphere.dll" file in both places.
When done, open a DAW (I used FL Studio) in Admin mode, load an instance of Omnisphere 2, it will give you a "Challenge Code". Hit the button "Copy" near the "Challenge Code" text. Paste the code into R2R tool's smaller text box, located under the three buttons. Hit the "Generate" button after this and copy the code it generates in the lower, big text box. Go back to the opened Omnisphere 2 instance and hit the "Paste" button near the "Response Code" text. Then hit Continue.
NOTE: Most of the time, when you paste the "Response Code" into Omnisphere 2, the DAW crashes. I had to do it like 4 times until it worked, so just persist. If it doesn't want to work even after many tries, try another DAW.

If you follow these steps, you should get a perfectly running Omnisphere 2.

If something is missing or unclear, please, let me know and I will correct/add it.

Amazing tho it may seem... and while i thank you for your gracious post and detailed information... it all seems so obvious without all the 'Installatory trauma' of the past few days.

Why are so many people having sooo many issues?

Cheers bro and I'm sure many will find this helpful... if they don't.. and continue to have issues, perhaps buying it is a better solution.

    Peace.

Thanks for your clear explanation, Amnesia (for me, O2 works fine at the first attempt last Saturday morning, using initial DVD posts except for D1 - I'm using PROPER-R2R - exactly as you've mentioned in this topic). Using DAEMON Tools Lite too, on Windows 7 x64.

About DAW crashes during registration (C/R): you can precise, in your topic, many legit customers have exactly the same problem! (I'll remove part(s) of this comment in case you'll edit/add them in your topic)

For Pro Tools users on Windows platform: don't forget to patch two Omnisphere.dll files, they're mandatory located in C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics\plug-ins and C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics\plug-ins\64bit (first is probably for RTAS, second for AAX). These files are -respectively - identical than installed in your 32-bit VST and/or 64-bit VST folders.

    Good work

Because they're many actors (instead of one), some DVDs are badly compressed and/or posted, some altered ISOs, no coordination between actors... as final result, some ISOs was corrupted (for some users). This is the main reason about the "trauma"...

Really no problem with the proper DVD-Isos and basic reading capabilities. ;)

Two things I'm asking myself (for following installs on a new machine):

    1. Do you have to install Trilian first if you want it to show up in Omni2, or can you install it after having installed Omin2?

    2. Same for Moog - can you just install that onto a Omni2-installation?

Assuming it's Windows machine (because it's Windows O2 topic) and as usual... platform/DAW are not indicated here/in user profile/in signature! I'm bored.

Doesn't matter about installations order. Simply install Bob Moog Library after O2!

Always use Step 2 for Omnisphere 2 (after installation, of course)
If Trilian have been installed: use "Step 3".
If Bob Moog Tribute Library has been installed, use "Step 4".

You can install (using this order) Ominsphere 2, then Trilian, then Bob Moog Library. Apply updates using this order : Step 2, Step 3, Step 4. Use R2R patch and KG to authorize Omnisphere 2 plugin (from DAW), use previous AiR KG to authorize Trilian plugin. Bob Moog Library doesn't need authorization.

Tried many and many times (on Windows 7 dedicated for tests purposes because I'm creating my own installer for x64 VST only - prior to burn BD-R XL (TL) 100BG... Has crashed one time only from REAPER 4.78 x64, no other crash occurs with same REAPER, Cantabile Solo v2 (x64) or Ableton Live 9 Lite v9.1.9 (x64).

Hi, I notice that you did not mention step zero of the R"R instructions which states that previous cracks should be removed before installation, the reason I mention this is that after following the installation instructions (I already have O 1.5.6 installed) opening Omnisphere up in FL Studio 12 Omnisphere defaults back to the previous version (1.5.6) I installed O2 as admin, patched successfully.
Do I really need to completely uninstall O 1.5.6 then install O2 or can i remove traces from the registry then reinstall over O 1.5.6?
    Thanks

    Win 7x64
    FL Studio 12

    well,

did what you said and did a fresh install...updated to 2.0.3d and its working.

now my only problem is like 1/4 of the patches throw up a missing/corrupt zmap error.

I couldn't even get it to go past the installer. I mounted the disk, and ran the exe in the step 1 folder, and the installer stops responding once it installs the .dlls.
I tried using Daemon tools, Power ISO, and Ultra ISO, for mounting the disk and NOTHING worked..

    It's a win 7 x64 machine

    Any thoughts...

Is there anyone here using Omnisphere on Cubase 8 (windows)? Don't fancy going through all this for it not to work. Not to mention wasting my time buying an uploaded pass to allow me to download such a massive program.

    Cheers
