Putin targets American exceptionalism, revolution building and asks if it is the US that has abandoned the global rule book? Putin was addressing a plenary session of the Valdai International Discussion Club, Sochi, Oct 2014, a forum for leading intl analysts focused on Russia.

My wife is from Valdai town. It is 170 km far from my city I live))
But as I see "Valdai International Discussion Club" is called not because it was there, but in Sochi - thousands km far from there. Maybe it is called just because this Club has been created/initialised in Valdai

 

Yes, You are right; the Valdai Discussion Club was named after Lake Valdai, where the club’s first meeting took place.
anyway, all the participants made some interesting and "mature" points.
