I have Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 250 Ohm. Very comfortable and good sounding.
Keep in mind: if you want to record e.g. vocals, you need closed headphones.
DT 770 Pro are closed. DT 990 Pro are open.

    threads like this need banning.

    never buy headphones from recommendations
    same goes with monitors.

    i've said it a 1000 times.

what's good for someone might not be good for you, go to a shop and test out as many as you can.

take a song you know very well and listen to as many systems as you can.

monitors/headphones are like girlfriends, everyones opinion is different.

The Beyer Dynamic and Ultrasone Headphones are by far the best I have heard. I am a distributor and previous Guitar Center (USA) dept manager.
I have heard them all and I own Beyer Dynamic DT990 and 880's for mixing and I use Pioneer headphones for DJing.

This is a great thread, too bad there isn't a poll to see who is using what! :)

I like Sony MDR-V6. These are very flat great for mixing. Amazon had them on sale for $50 a couple of weeks ago they are well worth the money.
These are pro headphones not colored like most. I have been very happy with mine and they last a very long tme.
    Monitor Speakers Yamaha NS monitors

Can anyone reccomend me a legitimate website where I can get the sennheiser hd25-1 ii brand new for the cheapest price possible at the current moment?

I've checked a couple of sites already. I just don't want to get scammed lol.

The big distributors are usually amongst the cheapest for new gear, depending on where you live
places like sweetwater for us, thomann for europe, or try amazon, they have automated cheapest price software running on their site

    Are you sure?

ive found them for cheaper than on sweetwater but I dont know if the site is legit and if there is free shipping etc

I'd like to find them on sale somewhere online but at the same time I plan on ordering tonight too (havent had headphones or monitors for a week lol)

Is adoramma legit? they have them cheaper than sweetwater

What's so good about sweetwater? Are they always the cheapest price and will match?

Amazon.ca has HD25 for much cheaper than sweetwater is there any reasoning for that? Will sweetwater price match?

Go to a shop and try out before you order! You might get surprised and it saves you from the unpleasant "sending back & forth" action.

Ok now I have a different problem.

I ordered off sweetwater, now they say Sennheiser doesn't ship to Canada. I tried a different website, and they don't either.

Can someone direct me to a online music shop that sell the Sennheiser HD25s that will both ship to Canada and accept paypal?

Depends what your getting and I only said it's usual, you can always find cheaper if you spend a long time looking, but what they often do if you can show the big guys a cheaper price they'll do deals to beat it, sorry wasn't being spefic about this.
I've had 100's knocked off prices by talking them down to what some of the competition are doing. I don't live in U.S so never used sweetwater personnally, so correct me if their just massive on their advertising budget that makes them seem like their big players, but big budget usually means their sellings loads

Can't say a single bad thing about the AKG K702's. They've come down in price a lot recently so they're really affordable now.

My audio technica m-50s have lasted about 4 years now been through 1000's of hours of sound still sounds nice, been in 2 fights with them on so i can verify they are very solid unless you fight the headphones themselves lol, the only part starting to ware is the earpads but thats a cheap easy order-able fix, have tried quite a few headphones but wouldnt trade these at the moment maybe just get an extra pair of one of the special editions available
