Dont click on any of the load of new user names that start with http://bit.ly, they are redirects to porn sites and probably will drop some nasty malware on your computer as well.

I want to add to this that they try to like every post to get more hits. (Like how I thanked the poster)

No it's just this butthurt little girl running around here acting like a fool: The Messenger. Let him waste hours of his time thinking I give a shit. When we relaunch all the thanks will be wiped out anyway and by then we will have better tools in place to close the last holes that we have here. Just ignore this troglodyte and go about your business.

Isn't there some filter or something to wipe all his thanks/messages if he's banned? (Not necessarily by default, maybe by case)

Don't get me started Grammofon. I could write a fucking SQL query to do it in 2 seconds but the Admin panel doesn't wipe them out when someone is banned or deleted from the database. I guess they never foresaw such a level of idiocy. Just don't visit the links.

Close, i just right clicked on the name and chose, open link in new tab :)

I did it to save other people who might be curious from maybe doing the same thing and getting some sneaky malware on their machine.

I dont suppose everyone runs a dedicated machine using virtualbox vm's for web browsing, so its better for me to try it than anyone else :)

aah the nutter has returned (it is summertime again), still didn't answer my question though, "have you stopped taking the meds again?", you obviously have spent quite a lot of time over the last 12 months or so gawping at lots of porn, I'm surprised you can still type, RSI can be very painful :wow:

had a couple of pm's from him yesterday, links to porn sites (...YAWN) but it's ok, I am happily married and have a great relationship with my wife, so no need for DIY sex. I believe he wants to take over the world, or AS at the very least :lmao:

Hey look on the bright side... free Thanks for everybody

(if you're curios where the links will lead to without actually clicking them: you can add a "+" at the end of bitly links to get redirected to a statistics page: Click here if you trust me! )

There were roughly 20 accounts yesterday so that's 20 AudioSex signups, 20 e-mail accounts created, 20 new VPN addresses (thinking of banning VPNs completely). Then you would have to sign into all those accounts and go around thanking all the day's posts. The funniest thing to me is what an utter loser you have to be to invest so much time into doing something so pathetically futile. You have to be unemployed, a headcase and living with your mama.

Off topic but this relaunch - I have multiple 'watched topics' which I refer back to.
Will they remain active, not 'wiped out' ?

No No....You marked the link and then copied it and then inserted it to a new browser window. Maybe on Mac it works like you discribed but on Windows a link is always the link behind and never the plain text...so on Windows you will always see the userprofile. But nevertheless you are right..This stupid asshole should be stopped. I think they uses SEO Tools like XRumer or stuff like that..to flood forums with automatically generated user profiles.

There does not need to be any siginificant amount of time involved in this. There are bots for stuff like this, see blackhat seo.
There is a good anti-spam guide from invisionpower, maybe that could be a way. http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/372907-stop-the-spam-guide-to-stopping-spammers/
I've achieved outrageously good results in spam prevention on my blog with plugins that work with databases like http://www.stopforumspam.com/

Problem is that it's not spam in the traditional sense because it's just spam thanking. I've personally made countless suggestions to prevent this nonsense:

    1) Use recaptcha. It works SO much better. Why aren't we using it? :dunno:
    2) Require administrator approval of all accounts. I'd even approve them myself if it's the problem of time.
    3) Ban VPNs.
    4) I've even offered to write the SQL to join the appropriate tables and delete the thank records.

It's very frustrating when I can solve a problem today but I am part of a team and so I have to just wait until we are ready to make the necessary changes. We're also working on the new AudioSex and therefore hesitant to start implementing countermeasures when we will have to scrap all that anyway because it's likely we're moving to a different platform.
