So I am reading a lot of reviews of delay plug-ins on various webpages, but the data is old, and the plugs are hard to find. Basically, I am looking for two "go-to" plug-in that runs in OSX at 64bits. One would be digital and cold-sounding like Plastikman or Autechre. The other would be warm and dubby sounding - think Deadbeat and DeepChord/Echospace, etc.

I have been looking on the sister site for one or the other, or both, but have not had much luck. What recommendations might you have for plugs that are readily available to try?

    Many thanks in advance.

    boz digital lab imperial delay
soundtoy echoboy (32bits but works with sound radix 32live) has many great vintage algorythm sound
    waves h-delay
    waves manyM delay
    voxengo latency delay

indeed any delay in ur DAW should do the job, if you know how to configure it properly of course (hass delay, slap delay...etc)

note: don't forget to EQ your delay for a better result in your mix!

    have a nice day

1.Fabfilter - Timeless(you can do incredible things but you need to spend some time with it)
    2.Ohmforce - Ohmboyz

For me best delay is BOZDigital Imperial, from the first time ive tryed it it's my go-to but you cannot do things like the ones you can with 1 and 2.

By the way, Autechre is a brilliant project(edited after seeing its actually 2 guys)

I'll third Boz Imperial Delay. You can get super crazy effects out of it, but it also works for simple delays, and I use it for both because the CPU usage is negligible. You might also want to check out the PSP Audioware effects bundle. It includes multiple delays of varying complexity, and you'll find it on the "sister site." The Vintage Warmer effect in the same bundle will also help with the "warm and dubby" sounds you're after. Finally, Fab Filter's Timeless is amazing, but I feel like it's more useful for complex delay effects, although it can do the simple stuff too.

Seriously though, Boz Imperial Delay is where it's at for a "workhorse" delay.

A lot of my favorites have been mentioned such as OhmForce, Soundtoys, etc. but I'd also like to add D16's Sigmund. It has more complex routings and you can get some really cool delays out of that thing though it takes a little longer to get in-depth with it. Also I really enjoy the software that Zynaptiq developed for Native Instruments Reaktor. For some reason the name escapes me at the moment but I find that it has some cool outside of the box stuff that can be an excellent complement to your standard fare.

Logic stock stuff is great as far as delay goes, other than that, Soundtoys Echoboy, hands down, wow, I never got over it, it's fantastic
