After the highly appreciated Audiosex Album: An Audiosex Sample Library, another joint effort that is only possible with many members adding the best of each one's capabilites: Sampling, editing, processing, scripting, GUI development and conversion to different formats.

This is my little idea that jumped into my mind when i was about to add another reply to the topic "How do you approach on developing a new Library?".

I can imagine this becoming a fun project, maybe even split into different instrument or effect categories, and what's not to like about a great sounding library with the fingerprint of many AS members?

i've started with a few categories but feel free to add more in the comments.
i am very aware that such a poll can hardly ever be a complete list, and it's only a first start out of curiosity, maybe followed by a more specific poll later.

Note that you can tick multiple checkboxes.

I want more solo instruments being played and vocal libraries in minor keys for electronic music :dunno:

More authentic maschine libraries using true raw kits and foley.

More rhythmic foley (think Burial style)

Modular synths are always nice. Dark sounds. Like Sound Dust stuff.

Dusty old sampled vinyl cut drums and 'chillwave' styled synths. Just that dusty old sound.

Oh, and more cowbell (joking, definitely much less cowbell)...

You'll probbaly delete this for being off-topic, but if the question were to be what do you want more of? I would answer more music-talk and some music-making. A music-making club of sorts, with sub-genres where people can come together in projects and learn how to create music; let's also be a useful spring-board to actually creating than just a place where you 'get things for free'.

+1 For a Vocal Construction kit for Kontakt that blows Vocaloid out of the water.

Should by achievable by today's standards, and it wouldn't need to be a typically Japanese sounding vox either. Gimme a wailing U.S. diva instead, any day.

More 808 + 909 drum machines (joking, those things have been done to death with all their Roland life sucked out of them).

Has anybody done a really good Human Beatbox yet? Not ready made loops or single hits, but a proper multi-sampled version?

What kind of samples would you like multi-sampled? Syllables? Words? Phrases? Vocal Percussion?
An AS members collaborative beatbox sounds like a fun idea

Well, I downloaded, tested and compared almost every lib, só what I never found good is:
    Cavaquinho
    Berimbau
Cuíca ( this is tricky because can be a real melodic expressive instrument)
    Sitar with great resonance
Talkbox fx ( I have a banshee for that but it gives a lot of work)
    Jaw Harp
    Vowel fx

    About vocals
If is ad-libs is ok, but construction kits in english are so particular and I think this is not the purpose of an open free site. People must know how to sing in the first place right?
An open language instrument was never done...
I think that almost everything was done.

Thanks a lot as always, and if I can help let me know.

It would be nice to have a good sample library (for Kontakt) of Viola da Gamba, in 6- and 7-string varieties (and even relative instruments thereof), with fine controls over articulation, bowing, and idiosyncrasies of the instrument. A piece on my current project is sorely lacking this instrument.

How bout some presets and banks too? Or maybe that's better off in another thread? Personally think it would take the library to the next level.

Hmu if you need some help putin it together.

Interesting, never even heard of this instrument before.
Do you know anybody who owns one?

    De fato.
Do you know how to play the Cuica? (I've tried a few times myself and ended up with a ripped drum head :wow: )
The nice thing with sampling is that you can record a long session of trial-and-error and pick the best stuff conveniently.

Which of these instruments do you have access to so you could theoretically sample them?

A Berimbau would also be a nice first example for Kontakt scripting I guess.

    Falou! ;)

Cavaquinho I have and use more like a mini portable guitar..
My cousin is a really expert and played the guitars in the film Rio 2.
Berinbau I had and its not that hard to play.
Cuíca is really hard to play. The way I imitate is to use an acoutic bass patch in the hier notes with a 2 oct pitchbend and the best resulta are done with not só best samples. This is one of the reasons tha will buy a ribbon controller. The main problem, for me, is the performance and that most people never heard a really virtuoso ( even People from here).
    Thanks for your interest :mates:
