It's 2015 and still there is no super solution for audio/midi over net besides Vienna VEPro.
It's a shame for NI, they never think about network solution for Kontakt sampler. Now days everyone use Kontakt and the libraries just growing.
Imagine NI develop network solution for Kontakt and other plugins stuff and you can have one dedicated Win/Mac server with large hdd capacity just for serving sounds... on other side in sequencer just add midi track and audio track.

Well that's part of the problem.. VEP is so good and way more flexible than any plugin or company specific solution is likely to be... that there really isn't much of an incentive to invent/sell/buy such a company specific system....

Waves are trying to develop/promote a networking option (SoundGrid) for hosting their plugins remotely but frankly, it is a bit of a disaster, both in terms of sales and implementation/stability...

IK were supposedly working on something similar a while back.. but that seemed to fade away...

Meanwhile VEP keeps going from strength to strength in terms of both stability and features...
