    Hi All,

I usually play everything by ear and come up with chords, but then spending too much time finding the right chord progressions.

I would like to understand the theory behind chords, their progression, why they are called for example Ab and what notes this Ab exists of.

Is there are a good tutorial online or any dvd's that teaches this in a good way?

    cheers!

    Yo...

I was looking for the same thing mate and found 2/3 tutorials quite good for that.Because i got no knowledge neither on scale and chords,i was afraid to find tutos with score!

So,check those ones,i did the one for electronic musicians...excellent and really easy to follow...

Check also UDEMY website for music fundamentals such as "music theory for electronic musician":

The one i found excellent is from SKILLSHARE called MIDI GRID THEORY i think...here is the link:

Hope it helps and enjoy the learning!

This is a nice websitewith free online lessons:

    http://www.musictheory.net/lessons

And here you can get the same package (slightly different look, but you will learn the same) for offline use:

    http://classic.musictheory.net/

And this is one of the best books I have read on music theory:
