Hi fellows,

My first post after searching this amazing forum and googling. Hope you guys find me a solution.

Well am new to PT switching from other DAW. Downloaded PT HD 10.3.9 from audioz and installed perfectly on my laptop i5, 250GH, 8GB RAM, Windows 8.1. The installation was an upgrade from PT HD 10.3.7 to 10.3.9. When I installed PT 10.3.7 and ran it for the first time, it scanned all plugins and stuck at Kontakt v5.4.3 AAX which was otherwise perfectly working in other DAW as vst. The error was 'unauthorized plugin'. Same error was for Guitar Rig. Anyway I googled extensively and found out that I needed to upgrade PT to properly run the AAX plugins. I did that and now the situation was a bit different. This time PT could pick up the Kontakt AAX but when I inserted it in the instrument track, all libraries were in demo mode!!! Resorted to search again and found the below topic someone posted here. It was almost similar to what I was experiencing so I did exactly what was instructed by the guys there. It was suggested to delete the AAX plugins so that PT would automatically detect the RTAS and would upload it.

Nothing changed. Neither PT 10.3.7 nor PT 10.3.9 could upload the RTAS plugins. I searched again and found a suggestion to delete the plugin preferences so that PT would do a search afresh. Nothing worked. Uninstalled Kontakt and reinstalled it starting from v5.2.1 to v5.4.3. Everything in vain. In short I did everything what I could do.

So now am here to ask you how to solve this problem. I hope I was clear in explaining the issue but if you need anything else, please ask. If any of you had the similar problem and found some solution then please let me know. Will be extremely grateful.

unfortunately AAX don't work, have you tried reinstalling PT? have you tried using vst to rtas wrapper? for your vst plugins?

 

You are quite right. AAX don't work
I did reinstall and to my luck PT has started showing up Kontakt as RTAS. It loads it perfectly in instrument track now. But I found out Kontakt will only work as v5.3 (or until whatever the last version Native Instruments supported RTAS). Fabfilters have same issue as well as some others. But I usually use Waves and they installed correctly, still every time when I run PT, some preferences window pops up despite ticking 'don't show' box.
Thank you for vst to RTAS tip. I will have a look and come back with what happened.

 

As SirSillySausage mentioned yes Fxpansion Vst to Rtas will do the trick !

 

I wanted to thank you both but my posts awaiting approval.

However, there seem to be some problem with this too and I found many users unhappy with fxpansion vst to rtas. I have tried it after SirSillySausage suggested me but PT crashed every time no matter which plugin I used. Is it working ok on your system?

 

Another simple solution would be use PT with Kontakt 5.3.1 and hope someone will make an RTAS version for future versions though I doubt it.

I'm using it and it works pretty good but it won't open the very new libraries (I still haven't got any problems with them yet but it will probably happen soon).
