Found sounds/field-recording.

Record when you hit/scrape/drop stuff. Everyday items can become "drums" or "percussion".

When I studied sound design last year we had one assignment that involved making a track out of found sounds only, even down to single cycle waveforms in a sampler or synth. I recorded stuff with a Zoom H2n in my kids room (only) and made it into a track. Individual processing (EQ, compression/limiting, filtering, reverbation, etc) and layering of sounds can be vital.

 

The kicks sounds well filtered in, leaving a nice bump or thump type of sound. Try using the high-pass and low-pass filters and close in a specific low bass frequency where you can get only that low thump sound.
