i still have a free 25GB account there, but you can only store projects there, its not for regular files.

i have local backup too, personal files are encrypted, like account data. not storing any warez on my cloud services, why should i? i can redownload everything.

The basic rule of thumb everyone should live by is to have ATLEAST 3x copies of backups available at any time. It reduces the risk of losing life long work to nearly 0%.

I still use western digital green hdds for backup, 3x cloud backups is not a option for me as my internet is so slow. But yea the whole FBI thingy is sketchy & is a threat to losing your data, I feel sorry for your friend Lukie.

    Hey Guys,

I just had a website savvy friend look over ozibox & pointed out more then several examples as to why it is a sketchy business model / developers.

If you want to know exactly I can post more info, but to put it simply, ozibox is affiliated with zevera & thats all that needs to be said really.

Lol.. all the guy said was: who doesn't know about dropbox

And you told him he looks autistic.

Do you have any idea how unprofessional that makes you/WF Studios look? If you have to be such a volatile little girl, don't do it with the name of your business attached to it.

I mean, that would be... retarded.

And your post just opened new horizons to this topic.(sarcasm)
Well, bashing him on his own topic is not going to induce any education in his life. I don't even know why you even bother telling him what he did wrong. Experimenting on our own and smashing ourselves to the ground because of our own choices, that's how you learn in life. You can tell him as much bitter-wise stuff as you'd like, but he'll only understand from his own mistakes, not from other people's words. No intention to be disrespectful to you though  , but keep posting stuff against him it will just turn this topic into a worse status.

Now moving forward & back to actually contributing to the community.

These are some of dot points for your information Exidus:

    1) It's meant to be an open source project, but where is the source? And the licence? All I see is a compiled .NET client application. No mention of open source anywhere.

    2) Not a word about the server software either. Maybe it will come when the developer site opens. Doubt it will be more than documentation of their API though. Probably they only want developers to make consumers to their API - giving them work for nothing. Community my ass.

    3) Everything about them lacks transparency. What is their business model? How is the income partitioned? How are the current servers and connection financed? If it became a success, how would they scale? How much bandwidth do they have? Can they guarantee that my transfers won't come to a crawl. If I chose them for backup, how are my data secured?

    4) They say, no censorship, no file theft - what, should I just take their word for that? What is the evidence? If their software is so secure, why are they hiding it? Security by obscurity?

    5) Their 250 gb storage is also ridiculous expensive. Nobody in their right mind would pay that for a simple storage service.

    6) They take popular buzzwords from the free software community, and make it sound like they are all about righteous values.

    7) The other small applications they have built, are Windows only and none of them are open source.

    8) They are also affiliated with zevera.com, who apparently are affiliated with some of the big hosts used for illegal file sharing.

    9) Doesn't seem to be about free software, openness, community, the greater good - they are about scratching their own itches. And they seem to have no experience hosting a large scale file hosting service. They have only made a few petty apps, that any new software developer could make.

    10) If they just had said, they were a normal company doing it for the profit, I would not have had a problem with them.

Just some stuff to think about the service

Well if I'm degrading the discussion quality of a self promotional fishing expedition for Dropbox space, I can live with that. I don't really think it being "his own topic" makes it sacred ground where no one can criticize him.

But the rest of what you said is fair. I can appreciate that this is a website where all the ad hominem crap is frowned upon, and the fact that I propogated it is on me.

In my defense, it seems he toned it down a little. Maybe he saw the kernel of truth in my assholeness.

Very cool free storage, although you might have a bad time trying to sync it from an android device,

the app just crashes on the sign in.

I just checked copy.com and I only have 40 gb I think you could only earn 25gb plus the initial 15gb.. https://copy.com?r=JibHCL you could begin your 5gb extra with that link.. They have nice apps for android and iOS..I think it is better than mega.. copy.com handle symlinks very well.. Mega does not..
