I'm using LPX and EZDrummer2. When I import the drum MIDI files, what should be the velocity, for kick, snare, hi-hats, cymbals, toms?
The maximum is 127...
After that, how much should be the "+ - random velocity" humanization, and the "position random".
In logic, under humanize->position, can't figure out, how its working...I alweys get a huge random position...

A good number is when it's starting to sound good (to you!).

 

if you import from EZdrummer the midi notes have their velocity, but for sure that isnt a value a specific velocity number, but the EZ lib mainly have natural performances.
The right thing must be about about expressiveness.
The goove is about lower and higher values.
Personalty I like to write and play my drums to give it more natural feeling.
Random is good do make things less static but it do not assure something natural, because you can make it less static but not natural.
For fix a static thing is better to use or make the grooves presets but the right thing for you music mainly is you that must do

 

ummmm... experiment??? its not like its permanent once you change it, right? so mess with the knobs til it feels right... twist all the knobs and fiddle with the values

 

Are you kidding guys? You nust always mantain the balance if there is any in those beats (I don't know EZdrummers midis) so tweaking each pattern manually is the best choice hoping there are enough RRs. Otherwise the style of the pattern is gone...
