    Hello ...

I'm using a Behringer C-1 Condenser Mic as my one and only vocal mic .

though it's a very good mic for 50$ I find it to be very thin sounding .

I mean it doesn't have any warmth at all !!!

I'm recording it through a M-Audio AudioBuddy - DI - Box (that should be ultra quiet !!!)

I don't have a dedicated vocal booth, etc.
... so it's picking all the noise from the environment .

What would you folks suggest to correct the sound, before the stage it gets to the computer ?

So I'd have to use the minimal amount of eq:ing and so on ???

A pre-amp with variable impedance can help even this mic. Use the cardioid pattern. and these work somewhat, for a real budget. Pretty much a carton with foam in it. It will sound very dry in your headphones, but much easier to work with than unwanted ambience. http://articulate-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/rel-blog/001_mxl_%26_booth.jpg------ http://www.articulate.com/rapid-elearning/4-simple-tips-for-recording-high-quality-audio/
