Guys, suddenly started to receive the unauthorised software clip after using Kore 2 for 15 mins or so.

The only thing changed is that I installed the NI Absynth Spectral Expansion.

I've been using 2.1.2 ever since it's release by Assign (back in march I think?)and it's been fine.

Any ideas at all??

Really bloody frustrating!

 

try shutting down your DAW and restarting then loading kore.. this literaly was happening as i started to read this. is working fine for me now, but i am on a mac

 

you might have reload 2.1.2 I find native with a mind of its own sometimes and have reload.I think sometimes it sort of updates what I might have added or matches it up.tryin to say it in a simple way.

 

Be careful when installing this.

I was using Kore 2 Vn 2.1.2 since it's Assign release then now all I get after the 10 - 15 mins use is the unauthorised software banner.

I tried reinstalling 212 over the top but still no go.

This is SOO annoying!

So, uninastalled KORE 2 completely and also removed as many registry reference as I could.

Installed Vn 2.0.0 - udated to 2.0.1 as this upgrade came with the Assign set.

Then updated to the Dynamics 2.1.2 and I'm right back where I started!

AARRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Sincro, I did not remove the soundpacks before reinzstall.

Also, I had no 15 min cutoff BEFORE I installed the Absynth spectral expansion. Also, other people have commented that some expansions can cause the cutofff to reactivate!

Also, I checked that the DLL's were all in sync in my VSTi folders with Kore 2 and found that the newer version of kore2.dll ( thats installed with the 2.1.2 update) was installed in a lower level vsti folder.

I have moved this around and will try to see if I can get it to work in my DAW (Reaper).

I will report back later.

Sinc, do you have the .xml file in the service centre folder?

because I do not and I suspect that is why, even when not connected to the internet, the App closes.

If you open up one of the files it contains details of the serial number registration etc.

Perhaps that is what needs to be looked at???

My files are situated here:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Service Center

Also, using the 2.1.2 updates - what is the date of the VSTi .dll file in your vsti folder?

Mine is dated 18/03/2011.

Me too - I can live with only 15 mins but would rather have unlimited!!

Also, because NI have now dropped Kore 2, it's doubtful that any of the other crackers (assign, dynamic, AiR etc.) will ever bother to look at it again...

I think we should forget the add-on spectral expansion.

The problem is with the registry key that starts to tick when Kore 2 is opened.

We need to find this key because it is the one that activates the close/buy window after 15 minutes.

I have been using Process Explorer to try to see what happens to the many Application threads but there are so many it is difficult to track what happens when the App is started....

Ive eliminated several possibilities..
I even removed all references to absynth spectral . rescanned without plugins, also with plug scan, went back to original kore dlls./ both.
- dumped vst folder off the scan list, rebuilt caches, tried caches from win7 (working)..... man what iS IT?!!!!!1 sheeeeeit.

nothing has worked yet,.,..

Although for me , inside a daw(I use samplitude or orion)_ it doesnt instantly close kore like it does in "standalone mode".. you can still save - my daw saves all the kore stuff automatically - so thats good..

Also It only presents the "buy: window if im adding new sounds, not if I open and close the modules I
have open....
which means the only inconvenience really: is that you have to do your sound loading in the first 15 min.
or else close and reopen your session to have load functionality.

So the program IS still fully functional. pretty much. 99%

SO even if we fix the time bomb-- do you want to part with spectral pack in order to do that?? I dont...no.I want them sounds.

I'd rather NOT live with the "loading bomb" //.man- I dont like it ..,
but I might have to live with it in this XP Rigs registry if we dont find that key/string and disable it.

You MUST be right about some regstry timer because I know these things:

1- Service center and the xml files do not affect the time bomb.
2- the database and cache do not either
3- the system vst folder doesnt cause it.
4 the kore dlls dont cause it.
5- even when removing spectral expansion it still does it.WTF!??

there must be a switch in the reg somewhere> with value of 0 rather than 1 or whatever.

I might install it all on some old P4 system kicking around-
as a test dummy to see if i can truly diagnose what the culprit is.

I have alot of 'kd soundpacks not just spectral.

by the way Cricthon - what OS are you on?
Do you have Absynth 5 installed or Kontakt etc.?
What NI stuff are you running.?

Sinc, I am on XP Pro 32.

I have Absynth 5, Kontakt 5, Massive (current version), Guitar Rig 4, Reaktor 5 (current version), and they all work with no problems - only this fuckin Kore 2 is a problem!!

I use Reaper 4 as my DAW.

to try and discover the "file" or "reg setting" that gets tripped after the 15 minutes
