Arghhhh...Updated TotalMix and Lost An Important Functionality

Discussion in 'Computer Hardware' started by superliquidsunshine, Jan 27, 2015.

  1. First, on this horrible screen shot one might notice that there is no routing possibility on AN 1. I just installed the update and lost this possibility. I use it to monitor my direct signal of my mics so that they might be more upfront than what my DAW is playing. Anybody have a clue or have had the same problem. I am a little freaked. Thanks upfront for any suggestions. Of course I will ask someone at RME tomorrow, but I thought that I would come here first to the ones I know.To access this missing choice one needs to double click to see the options, I have none.

It might be the case that you have to update the firmware of your box before taking this update. The RME documentation ReadMe tells you just exactly what firmware you require and the Firmware update tool is alongside the update to download. Your settings dialog box will show your current Firmware. Good Luck

You have to press the wrench button on the fader for AN 1/2 and then press the stereo button so that it splits them out to mono channels. They will then convert to AN 1 and AN 2 on separate channels.

Or are you talking about the blank space below the AN 1 channel? If thats the case you just have to left click there and it will bring up a list of destinations. Set it to what you need and you should be good to go.

  5. Thanks to the both of you, I have updated both driver and flash, have split the channels, but AN 1 just passes signal through to my DAW but I do not have the routing option because there are just no options available. Double clicking does not work to bring up the option to route and in addition trying to go stereo also fails as there is no left channel to make a pair, the stereo button does not light up. The matrix view too does not let me do anything to AN 1 as it is unavailable, and another window confirms that it "AN 1 is unavailable". I have contacted RME this morning. AN 2 works perfectly well as does everything else (besides a little crackling on my kick channel that seemed to work itself out. I would like to uninstall the driver and start from scratch but will wait for the tech staff to give me the go ahead before I attempt it.Anybody have other suggestions?

I'm going to stay with v3.42 for a good while longer. The difference is mostly in fancy graphics anyway.

  7. Yes, the graphics are a tad nicer and I like the new color scheme. Hey Sinewave, have you any idea how I can uninstall the TotalMix software? I tried but it would not let me oust it. I figured I could back-step to my previous version but was not able to do so. RME hasn't yet gotten back to me as yet.

I have not even tried the new driver yet, so I'm not 100% sure, but on Windows you should just go to control panel>add/remove programs, find "RME Hamerfall driver" and uninstall it from there. Then install v3.42 from the setup.exe file. Why would it be such a problem uninstalling the new driver? ;) Possibly there's even an uninstall shortcut in the start menu under "RME".
