Omni 1 patches are included but not sure whether they'll be usable upon release in older projects that used Omni 1. I'm sure they will eventually be.

i bought Omnisphere way back for 499$ for the Upgrade i have to pay 199$ (Vip because i own all 3 Products)thats 698$ for me

if you buy now you might find a good Price somewhere i saw one for 359$ and you get 2.0 as a free update...

2.0 is a real update not just bugfixes it has some great additions to use which will let us go deeper into that Synth

and squeeze more sounds out of it

i mean c´mon 16 instance of fx per Patch and even modulate an Arp with an LFO or an envelope ...

and dont even get me started on the option to put your own Samples in it....

Yes, there will be alternative forms of installation available optionally to registered users in addition to the included
set of 8 DVD-ROMs that comes in the box.

However, it’s important to note that all Spectrasonics instruments are sold exclusively as physical boxed product through
authorized resellers like Time & Space. Currently, Spectrasonics is shipping its instruments including multiple DVD-ROMs.

However, Spectrasonics is keenly aware that many users no longer have computers with optical drives and there are numerous
scenarios when the convenience of downloading or the speed of a USB drive would be a preferred form of installation for different
users.

To address all the various user needs and scenarios, Spectrasonics is starting a new Support Services area of their tech shop that
will offer Alternative Installation USB Drives and Additional Download Installations for optional purchase. These services
are available directly from Spectrasonics for registered users. The price of the Alternative USB Drive service will be $40

I'm curious about that, too. I wouldn't be surprised if it did require a dongle. It would be a shame because I'd avoid it like the plague. I don't fancy dongles. Well, I fancy my own, but that's a different story

Upgrade for existing users is a 23gb

While Omnisphere 2 has a new "Audio Import" feature, it's not turning into a full sampler or audio editor. Omnisphere will always be a synth - sophisticated sampler features like multisampling, velocity switching, round-robin, scripting, etc, etc are best handled with something like Kontakt or many other fine sampler products
