Hi,
I am mixing a song of my friend and got stuck at eqing the vocal track. Could anyone please help me in eqing this vocal track? (just the subtractive eq)
Here's the vocal track:

You should check out "Recording Revolution" on Youtube. He has dozens of very good tutorials on how to mix vocals, it might "unstuck" you

Hmmm, and how can you EQ a vocal track without hearing the whole mix? *no*

i usually massage vocals in this order:

-eq out resonant frequencies with a linear phase eq.

-compress it with a la2a

-sweeten it with a neve 1173 , add some drive for warmth

-compress more if song is dense

-add reverbs(ambience/room/hall) via auxes

-limit for safety
----------------

like this : http://www76.zippyshare.com/v/bi5XSKED/file.html

on the right side of the player turn on "hd" from "sd" for high quality or just download file. with the linear eq i used a high-pass filter at 100hz, found resonant frequencies at 250-425-2khz, where i notched with the narrowest q -8db each. ask anything later if u need more help.

ps.:now u know my trick ;)

Yo bro why would you think any one could magically EQ the vocal with no backing track?? if thats the case then just leave it as is, add reverb and call it day lol :snuffy:

An industrial track? Distort it and run it trough a guitar cabinet (or amp sim/convolution reverb).

It was a joke.
It could be a very mellow industrial track. :)
