Ok, I've got an issue that has been irritating the shit out of me & I have no idea how the hell to fix it.

When I try to go to VintageSynthPads.com on any of my computers while connected to my WiFi network, it forwards me to Google everytime. If I use my phone connected through the mobile network, it goes through no problems. So obviously it has somethin to do with my WiFi, somehow. Anyone ever have this problem & does anyone have any info on how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

Did you try turning your router off for a minute and then on again? Perhaps a reset is worth a try too but be careful if you have settings that you might not remember how to set up again. Also keep in mind to retain your admin username and password for your router if you reset it. Also just curious but are you using a static or dynamic IP address? In other words does your IP address change every day (after your lease expires which is usually 24 hours) or is it always the same?

Thanks for the reply. I'm gonna give the reset a try right now.

As far as the IP Address, I believe it stays the same but I'm not 100% sure. It's 1 of the U-Verse routers & was setup completely by the tech that came to my house. I'll let you know what happens after I reset it.

Try turning it off, waiting a minute and then on again first. And remember to find out the default username and password if there is any. Check the manual. Also try connecting through a proxy or VPN and see if it still happens.

switching routers off for 5 minutes then restarting should change the ip address given to you from your ISP (if you have a dynamic one)

everyone should really get in the habit of switching their routers off for a few minutes every couple of days at least

accessing your router set-up is simply typing an ip address into your browser, search on google to find your routers

For U-verse, it should be something like 192.168.1.254, you will need admin name and password to access the set up pages. unless you have changed name and password, they should be the same as when the IT engineer installed it, have a look on the back of the router, or any paperwork that came with it, or even search google for the defaults, they may even be as simple as

    Name: admin
    Password: password

if you have never looked around your routers setup, BE VERY VERY CAREFUL changing settings without knowing what they do may make your router stop working. However there should be a hard reset button, or a pin hole reset to return the router back to factory default, again make sure to read up on your routers information

most home routers are set as dynamic, which means the ip address can be changed (by your ISP), static are really only used if you use your home computers as servers, FTP, etc, website servers use static ip addresses

Thank you both again for your replies. Sorry on taking so long to respond. I tried rebooting/resetting the router multiple times with a different amounts of time before rebooting it & it didn't help, still having the same problem.

I'm gonna try the router setup in a lil bit when I get my kids to sleep for the night. Thanks again & I'll report back with my results.

could well be a dns server issue

log into your router and locate the dns server ip address. does it match your ISP dns server address? (check the ISP's website)

I use OpenDNS instead of my ISP servers, never had any issues with OpenDNS, and it also bypasses some of the ISP's restrictions
