I saw this update(Kontakt 5.4.1 Mac&PC) offered on the usual channels. Did anybody have installed it? I didn't read any comments so far about how well it works..

 

Kontakt 5.4.1 does not work on my old macbook osx 10-7

 

I have just load a third party lib and fool around with some instruments on the standalone version and it did work on win 7 64bit
it says full when i clicked on about

 

don't be in a rush to get everything updated, that can sometimes cause more trouble. always check to see if the updates are important and if they are going to improve your operation of the software

everything works well, the better version since 5.2.0

 

Apparentluy it's not going to be any RTAS support any more.
Would it be possible to install 5.4.1 and keep using the 5.3.1 RTAS plug in (in the same computer?

 

Hi Ovalf, did you have to unistall 5.3.1 completely? Are you on Mac or PC? thanks.

 

Can someone confirm is everything ok in this version with re-base option becouse in few last versions if you re-base some libraries they mess up.

 

no simply install over!!!
Eveything is good with that version, its the best and the newer!

This. People are reporting issues with it, some say that running installer twice lets it install the visualc runtime stuff, others have issues with specific instruments.

Sample Modeling Trumpet is out of tune (getting a constant pitch bend message), Celtic Anthology in demo mode, MAC user having crashes on 10.8.5, Project sam's news section tells ppl to not update because library will be unathorized.

well there you go, for some people the update is working and for others it's not, and oh look, service center errors, here we go again

 

In Windows, the R2R package works ok, just installing over and everything works ok.
In OSX, they ask you to uninstall the previous package, "especially the playlist" and then install the new one. I did this and now I have a "Kontakt Player" and all the libs are in "Demo". Ouch.
There's another version floating around from "Hexwars", I didn't try it.
Fortunately I did this in my test machine.

 

News on 5.4.1 on Mac:
After cleaning the old install, even the invisible receipts in /private/var/db/receipts , a clean install brings v5.4.1 totally working. I don't see any differences with v.5.3.1. All the libraries that 5.3.1 was able to load are loaded also in this version.

I still have problems with a few Cinesamples libs that the old version was unable to load: Deep percussion beds, Cineorq, Cinewinds core, Hollywood winds. And RA that is loaded but on reopening is gone.On W7 I was able to load them with KLM3, but there's nothing like that for OSX users.
That's it for now.

 

Win7 x64 - 5.4.1 works on my machine with the following exceptions:

New York Concert Grand (installed with Komplete) couldn't be located, but the Vienna and Berlin from the same install were fine (weird)
One older library that was installed via reg edits could not be located either. ncint install fixed that.

 

The AAX does work in my Protools 10.3.9 but I am having problems activating libraries
