On a sidenote but related topic I noticed that last time I had the Valhalla stuff installed I was missing presets on at least one plug, possibly more. Anyone else had that issue? Maybe it was a fluke and I will reinstall them soon but just wondering.

I really liked the 2CAudio plugs but haven't used them intensively yet, i was just having a little fun experimenting and seeing what they were capable of. Interesting to read Evorax's take on them in the context of a mix.

By the way we should do a shootout with different reverbs and see if people could tell the difference between them. That would be a cool forum project. *yes*

Do you use ableton live? Sometimes the preferences.cfg gets messed up and no presets show up. That gets resolved as soon as you restart live...

Made me sad how long I had to read before anyone said WizooVerb

Honestly Wizoo sounds as good as any of the others I've heard without having to stare at a million knobs. If you want more options, click over to the next tab and the tweakability is there. If you just want it done quick and dirty, all the broad-brush-stroke parameters are right there in front of you.

God dammit I just uninstalled these last night because I never used them. Now I have to get em back because you made em sound so good.

I actually uninstalled the ArtsAcoustic one at the same time too, but I'm not sorry about that. That one sounds kind of brittle to me and almost metallic, no matter what you do to it. Not metallic like I need to add some damping at 5k, just cheap-metallic somehow.

I really strongly agree with you about the 2c ones. I always try to put them on things because they get so much praise. Then I tweak till I think it's good and move onto something else... and then I come back in 10 minutes and replace it with WizooVerb.

I don't know what it is about Valhalla Shimmer. As someone said here: "...makes Lexicons sound boring". It's probably because I'm not a real musician and Valhalla makes my brain-to-hand-disconnect mistakes sound like a celestial orchestra :) I love creating soundscapes with movement and change. Valhalla is the only verb that gets me in the ballpark, but that's just me.

Eventide Ultra Reverb (Needs iLok Licenser but NO DONGLE)

It's just awesome: simplistic but very useful interface. Just a few good alogorithms, a compressor with (pre/post option), a stereo delay (pre/post) with independent delay times for L+R and four 3 Band EQs for (Reverb, Pre, Post and Delays) and it also has a snapshot section with 16 slots, to quickly test some settings and fiddle around.

The Compresser is very useful for shaping the Reverb on a send return. Especially on Drums. I use a very fast attack high ratio and adapt the predelay release and blend it with dry signal. This way, get hard knocking drums and some sort of ducked reverb that blends in with the decay of the drums, so that the drums stay crisp but still have some ambience.

Valhalla Room and Vintage Verb. They just work

Artsacoustic Reverb. Little complicated at times, but VERY NICE on Synths.

Overloud RE-Matrix. My Favorite Convolution Reverb.

HOFA IQ Reverb. Convolution too. Really great, but very CPU intense due to 3D Spectographs and stuff

    IK Multimedia Classik Studio Reverb.

Lexicon is for me the main choice... it is very controllable and it runs smooth on weaker machines.
...the second choice is the old "Reverb A" from Cubase
