Connect the master out of your mixer to the line-input of your macbook.
Open up a program with recording capabilities.
Probably you have garageband already installed. Otherwise you can search google for free recording apps.
Setup the preferences in the recording program (select the right input of the soundcard)
    Hit the record button.
    Start DJing.
Make sure you have enough free disk space.
It makes a big difference in sound quality when you use an external audio interface.

Have you figured it out already?
    I mean, input is input...

Connect the main out of your mixer to the this input. choose the build-in input in the preferences in audacity.
Click record. Now, when you have music playing through your mixer, it will be recorded.

Does it need to be plugged to the mixer for the inbuilt to show up?
