First off, I realize that this is the Ableton section of this forum,
but no Bitwig section. So....

At the point in the "keygen.jar" instructions where Bitwig is to be
run, the app puts up a splash screen quickly and then quits. I have
placed the folders of the included "jre\bin" and "jre\lib" explicitly
in the respective "JAVA_HOME" and "CLASSPATH" path lists. Still nothing.
Also put the "\jre\bin\libs.jar in the the "CLASSPATH". Nothing, no
squawk just silent death.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience and what
solution was devised?

I am running:
Windows 7 6.1.7600 Build 7600 64-bit [recently updated]
Intel i7 @ 4 cores, 16 GB RAM
Saffire Pro 24 DSP audio interface

What a letdown.

 

For windows I never had to do that, just ran the java kgen and chose the bin as the first step, so sorry can't help with this
