Firstly, that doesn't sound good at all...

    Some options:
    - Clipper
    - Saturation/Overdrive
    - Bright/Filtered Reverb
    - Limiter/Maximizer
    - Highpass
    - Compressor would help but it's not necessary
    - That mix barely has any bass in it, so it's only natural it will "shine" more/be more forward

(Of course, you combine all those in some way)

Layering transients (high-end short samples) on your drums, percussions, etc.

You can also try transient shapers followed by pretty heavy limiting.

It sounds like there is some heavy compressing going on... especially on the snare and percussion... probably a gated compressed reverb snare. Focus on the percussion, layer with a synth type, don't forget to EQ certain frequencies down or way down. The kick is standard if you ask me.

    Just a quick question:

What do your question (and all your other questions) have to do with mac/hackintosh?

Analyze your spectrum of the kick alone see what you frequencies u need to boost/reduce i.e in the ranges below 100 HZ. Is hard to hear these frequencies sometimes so always check them in analyzer.Make it levelled out so there no huge peaks etc.

Compression wise definitely mess with & check your ratio's thresholds ect but remember that when u compress it your gonna naturally loose 'low end' bass wise & will have to subsequently boost. Not always great. API 550 a good compressor but their loads of good ones & depends what you like using.

So your problem sounds like maybe u way overcompressed your drums thus losing the low end & not eq'd it right to compensate. Plus u could have a load of conflicting frequencies etc.

Also maybe use a de-esser & also look into sidechain & parallel compression. You should also consider what u put B4 your compression or after etc.

As for transients Waves Trans-X Multi is a good plugin but their some other good ones.

    Good luck

Hope that example snippet is from yourself. Because it should not be used as reference material..
In the case this is a piece of music you think sounds good, think again..

It's flat and has no bass due to overcompression. Clipping, and limiting.

Every piece of good house music is based on the same principles. Already mentioned.
Tight transients, parallel distortion and compression. EQ, and use your ears.

To get a real nice sonic signature you can consider to sum your tracks out of the box.
