Just make it play offbeat 4th-notes. There is a layer below (more percussion-like lowpassed bass stab, sidechain compressed) playing 8th-notes. Maybe you are confusing the two to be one sound altogether.

Try removing the swinging 16th-note that you are using now.

It could be an octave below. It could be a totally different sound, lowpassed. Play around with it.

Do you actually have to make everything identical, or will you settle with learning a few new things along the way when emulating a sound/track?

It actually sounds pretty close. Take it an octave down and you should get even closer. Also, close the filter a bit more (the low pass filter) Add some overdrive distortion on it as well. Do one oscillator with a saw wav and another with a square wav. Both low octaves since I don't hear any higher octaves in the sound you're trying to emulate.

What synthesizer are you using by the way? Not that it matters but I would just like to know.

it's the same octave/tone, i think you're pretty close already - the first note has a bit more lowpass filtering and is more dynamic (quieter than the second), plus your swing-factor is too high, it's much straighter in the original...only a tiny bit of swing :)

It's not identical but it really gives it more of a drive and you can hear it, i've also added some delay, just a tad bit of delay in the mixer
You can hear it's not just a kick and offbeat normal bass, well i hope you can ! :D
