    Hi Sexies,

    I am really very pretty upset about Cycling/Ableton Licensing and Pricing.

    Earlier this year I bought Live 9 Suite incl. Max for Live License. I am a musician, not a coder, so i was not interested in purchasing a Max 6 License.

    WTF do they now? For M4L Devices built in Max 7 I shall purchase a Complete Max 7 License, while I am only Using M4L? Grml, for a good Price I would consider to do that. But, what?!? The "Crossgrade" to Max 7 is 299$. I paid 599 € for Live 9 Suite and get few months later a Crossgrade Price 100 $ below Full Price? Same will possibly go for a Live 10 Crossgrade? The Price of Push already is impudent.

    Yea, Sorry for bad words, but I am really pissed.

    In my Opinion, Live without M4L is like Boobs without nipples. Seems like there's need to play around with Fl, Reason, Bitwig? Surely will take some years, until they get as big to ones boots as Ableton/Cycling74

    Fook
    Kabel

    Edit: I do not earn money with producing and I have other duties than gold-plating ableton's brash ass

    I will never buy Ableton Live or other companies products as long as they dont care about their customers. For years they didnt fixed the pdc problem and also on their forums they dont care about recommendations or answering on forum topics etc.

    Damn. I'm not going to sleep well this night. Can't get that picture out of my head. :lmao:
    Take my m4L away but leave me the nips please.

    What a bullshit. Anyway you have to be upset with cycling74 for this, I don't think ableton
    is responsible for max pricing. I don't know which kind of contract there's between the two companies
    about max4live and if ableton have power on this kind of things.

    Anyway, it sucks.

    @copylefter

    shame about the new 30 day trial method ay! :(

    guess it might end up being a bonus as its all bundled into one app now, im pretty sure iv seen this sort of method conquered before.
    could end up saving us the time of resetting every 30 days like in 6. as it is now more of a viable entry point and im pretty sure will inspire some tinkering in those suchways inclined :P

    @ kabelkotze, you confound the offer. The crossgrade option is for buying Max full license version. That is to say the complete version. Max For live is just about using the max device include live. So you don't have to pay extra option.
    Also, the most of the device work and will work with max for live 6.
    For the exemple,i could load new devices in max for live 5 with live 8 well after i max 6 was released
    i couldn't just not launching the new devices developped by ableton like the convolution reverb.

    hope this help you

    ps: you must know that , even if you are not a coder, you must know that max are designed to be using with the eyes, and no with language's code. So everyone, can create a device with it. I don't know using it myself, but i'll using it for creating video synched to my music

    @huschiwuschi

    From the Manufacturer, here: http://cycling74.com/shop

    @M3R0

    Yes, got that. Didnt know Live 8 and the Major Update from Max 5 to 6. But afaik you didnt had to buy a Full Max 6 License to an excessively high price, although you only want to use M4L Devices.

    Anyhow, I have to decide for myself, if I will keep that way.

    Just playing around a bit in Max7, wanted to learn but gave up, no time to learn all that stuff.
    Anyway, Max7 is needed to EDIT M4L devices created with Max7.
    You don't need a Max7 license to USE new M4L devices in Live :wink:

    Yes you NEED max7 in order to use max7 patches created by others in Ableton Live.
    I even asked Cycling74 and they told me that in order to use max7 patches (i already own Max for Live 6 i got with Ableton 9 Suite) i have to pay $399 just to be able to use max7 patches created by others (even if you don't create them yourself).
    Ridiculous.... and totally out of their mind.

    Only a retard would pay $399 to be able to use max7 patches.

    Sorry, the price was not $399 but $299 for existing max for Live 6 owners.
    But still....
