It is exactly this kind of synths i would not buy, even with big money.
But i would buy an ARP2600, an OSCar, a modular system...

PS : when you get the second, give it to me. All those buttons will impress ppl anyway

I remember when the Waldorf Wave came out.. pretty sure it was about £6000.
This was back at a time when I was picking up Jupiter 8's and Prophet 5's etc for about £500 so never even dreamt of ever trying to be able to afford one!
Always fancied having a go though but heard they were pretty buggy.

    Macbeth systems

    Or

    Buchla

    Or

    Cynthia

Just my thoughts. Though i love modular synths, id spend so much time coming up with sounds and then not writing them down and/or losing the settings, or tweaking my setting. I could never be satisfied. So i go soft synth.

i have had a few synths in the past that are worth crazy money now,
i would rather have a microwave mk1 2.0 than waldorf wave,
its synth collector stuff to me,but looks real nice,
i remember when it came out and it was on the front of S.O.S ,haha.

i once got a jomox sunsyn for 900 gbp when it had not been out for more than a year or so,
i wanted to like it i really did, but when i used it i found not
many useable sounds, good for mad noises only for me at the time only wrote a few tracks with it in,i swapped
it for an 808, then i noticed a year later that sunsyn was going for 2000 quid,
then later 3000 now around 4000!.Sold the 808 too wish i had one now,ahh well,
just got a drumtraks and electribe!.

these rare peices are that price because of collectors in my opinion and
    just not worth the money.

Yeah I know what you mean. Luckily I had my vintage synth obsession years ago when they were pretty cheap compared to todays prices.
The only vintage stuff I've held onto is an OSCar, Sequential Pro One and RE-201 Space Echo and a couple of Rhodes pianos.

I don't really regret selling any apart from a very early R.A Minimoog which was one of the 1st 50 made in Bob's garage. Should've kept hold of that one!

A friend has a Waldorf Wave, sadly it is missing in action, due to damage caused by been in a damp farm house for years. Such a shame :( He's probably lost all his iconic patches stored on it too :( I have waldorf Nave on the ipad, that's fun for us less well off people :) He said he had tried out the Q and other waldorf later releases but the filters were not as good.
