    @ Lyric8,

In fact, there's 2 types of 'MIDI Files' Formats : 'MIDI Type 0' & 'MIDI Type 1'.

'MIDI Type 0' contains all the 'MIDI Data' into a unique 'MIDI Track', whereas 'MIDI Type 1' contains all the 'MIDI Data' into as many 'MIDI Tracks' as created by the creator of the 'MIDI' Song/Sound Kit,... *yes*

Maybe the following Article can help you in some way...

'Logic Pro X: Export MIDI regions as standard MIDI files'

The following Software can also certainly help you :

    'MidiYodi'

    'MidiYodi v3.0' DEMO Download'

lyric8, MidiYodi 2.5 runs perfectly with Snow Leo (10.6.8) That's the last compatible release with 10.6.8.

Any DAW can do that "i think" in Cubase 5 it is called dissolve parts
Thats the only one i have tested it in so i dont know what they call this function in other DAW:s

But the annoying part is i dont if you can export it (never tried though) at the same time in Cubase
You could export separate Audio tracks so why not Midi?

    Look at this video

I don't know if Reaper runs on Leopard but it can do that. All you have to do is import the midi file and it will prompt you to choose of you wanna split it in multi-tracks. then you export it as a multi-channel midi file and you're done. That's the only thin i still use reaper for since i'm on Ableton.

As you have not mentioned any DAW I suppose you're looking for a general, DAW-independent solution.
I'm really surprised about the scarcity of Mac Midi tools. Under Windows, you have a wealth of a choice.

I've searched the web quite a bit because I'm interested in the same thing, and the only Mac 10.6 compatible solution I've found is MidiKit 4 from mixagesoftware.com.
Quite a powerful piece of software.

Toontrack's EZPlayer Pro might also be worth a look. It follows a different concept (DAW integration) but may solve your problem as well, and there's definitely a version that runs under 10.6.x.

Good luck and keep us updated!

Studio One works on mac, drag a midi 1 type file into the daw and all the tracks are separated into their indivdual stems, you can then manually save which stem you require or change each stems vsti etc. Pretty sure other daws will also do this

also google "convert midi 0 to midi 1" for possible further info
