    I am an MP3 'DJ'and controller DJ.

MP3 DJs have no 'disks'..... so can they be a Disk jockey?

    what should they be called?

(this is light-hearted to get the forum rolling - so no flaming :mates: )

A DJ, is a person who selects and plays recorded music for an audience. I don't think it matters much what format he\she uses.

Great Mykal. Joke or not, people need to know the history of this.
    Another accurate definition from Wikipedia:
"A disc jockey, also known as DJ, is a person who selects and plays recorded music for an audience. Originally, "disc" (sometimes spelled "disk", although this is now uncommon) referred to phonograph records, not the later Compact Discs. Today, the term includes all forms of music playback, no matter the medium."

today it's mp3, tomorrow it's $%&/(), so maybe a media-jockey... but i think people just want pure and simple enjoy the music (your dj-set)in the future, i think the party crowd call you in 2030 still "DISCjockey". if not (my opinion), just boxing every person who ask importand questions like "what media you use? vinyl, cd's, mp3's...?" in the face and answer it with:

    i am a fistjockey...
