I think 5.1 mixing is still the big deficiency. May be for v3.0

Thanks a lot Willum, sounds good. However it will likely be a while for AiR to release.

I will be in my next DAW, just using Studio One in the interim since I moved to Windows 8 from XP. The guys actually got together and got me a most awesome gift for Christmas this year. :break:

Studio One is nice but having bought Reaper a couple of years ago i am too used to being able to easily route any track anywhere, something missing from Studio One. I do love the drag and drop of instruments or samples though. Then i bought Live Suite {having been able to demo it for a good while :) ), got a half price deal on it when i registered a very old copy of live lite i had got with a soundcard years ago.:)

I'm using Live now mostly, i love the non-linear way of putting songs together and i can rewire to Studio One or Reaper as well. Best of all worlds now!

Reaper is definitely powerful but I didn't gel with it like I did with other DAWs. I like Cubase though it gets a lot of hate because it's really a powerful environment though certainly traditional. It's also very efficient. I couldn't get along with Live. I know a lot of guys love it but it just wasn't my bag. I might try BitWig, they've provided multi-out support in the latest version but unfortunately still no VST3 support. VST 2.4 has been deprecated so in my opinion all DAWs should support it at this point and Reaper doesn't either. Studio One is very appealing, some things you just think to yourself: why haven't other DAWs been doing this? Perfect example: how you can access all the effects and vsts on a channel so easily instead of having to exit one to load up another. Brilliant! That's the kind of thinking we need. Steinberg could be doing so much better if they started really listening to their customers, they're notoriously bad at that and it's a shame because with the right changes it could be restored to its former glory. Honestly I want something that's a mixture of BitWig/Live, Logic and Cubase. That would be awesome but I guess I'm just dreaming.

One of my favourite things in Studio One
May seem trivial at first sight, but these are things that really matter when working with a DAW.

Whenever I see someone working in Cubase, opening and closing all those plug-in windows, I think to myself: :bleh:
Imagine how many thousands of mouse-clicks less you have to do over a longer period.
    Such things really sum up.
