Fingers Inc. didn't have anything to do with the "Preacher" sample to begin with.

It was originally from a track called "My House" by Rhythm Controll.

Fingers Inc.'s "Can You Feel It" was bootlegged with the sample, and then their label decided to re-release it with the same "My House" vocal.

It became the groove of all grooves!!

    A lot of different opinions!
    Thanks guys!
    Maybe will be more opinions?
Also, "Groove" is a one word to explain all these thing you described. Maybe one-word synonyms? Or one-word Russian word (because I'm Russian, and I don't know the Russian variant... who knows Russian? Russian word for "groove"?).

What is the Russian word for "slang"? A slang word in any language often has different meanings, depending on how it is applied. I tried to translate song lyrics from Portuguese to English, and because there was a lot of slang, it made it hard to understand exactly what the lyrics were trying to say, sometimes. Now, our next English music slang for study---"funky".

The "hook" of the song is usually the part that draws most people in. the catchiest part. The hook is often the chorus, but not always. It could be a guitar riff or another vocal section of the song. Sometimes it's another section of the song. (I consider the Sax melody in Gerry Raferty's "Baker Street" the hook) It usually applies to pop/dance or country music. My favorite "hooks" came from the 1960's "bubblegum" pop music. (See Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart)
