Hey there fellow audiosexers . I'm a (digital) crate digging type of guy as i like to chop some dusty gems from here and there when making music. Often on Youtube because i can listen right away instead of skimming through a whole LP. I'm currently using "Youtube to MP3 Converter" from Dvdvideosoft. It's great, but leaves me with errors often unfortunately. You guys know any great alternatives?

I do a little digging that way also. Allow me to suggest an alternative: Don't transcode to another lossy format. By the time a video is hosted by YouTube, it could have been transcoded between lossy formats any number of times.

For example: I use Logic Pro X, which can load MP4s downloaded from YouTube and I do my chopping directly. If Logic couldn't do that or when I use my Roland MV-8800 directly, I would convert the MP4 to WAV or AIFF first.

I use www.clipconverter.cc to download the MP4 without conversion. But if you insist on converting to MP3, it will do that too.

 

Thank you @Ozmosis ! krameri My friend thanks for the input, you're actually right about converting to wav, i should slice and dice with wavs but the conversion takes a tad of time and most of the time i just collect them for later use, I have been able to mix decent and make decent songs out of the mp3's too. thank you a dozen ill try your method out, Im actually trying to download whole playlists, but when i need a single vid ill keep ur link in mind

Actualy I'm using the "Flash Video Downloader" plugin for Firefox or JDownloader 2

 

Internet Download Manager It works with various other sites to such as Groove 3.

I use an online converter called "Clipconverter". Google it and try. Always works fine for me.

Yep, JDownloader 1 or 2 as well here. Just copy the address and voila. Whatever formats are available appear in your Link Grabber window.

Thank you for the software and input guys!! I'm currently using JDLer 2 Beta and i'm having a blast with it when it comes to youtube, simply perfect (shame it doesn't include wav as a variant for the vids though), wondering if it's able to dl from zippyshare, i'll check it out. *yes*

 

In old days I was using my browser's cache folder. Nowadays clipconverter.cc is enough.
