Anyone tried and used this yet? Looks really useful but expensive at Euros 295 .... has this been cracked yet?

MP3 Surround and HD AAC encoding are useless because not much can decode them yet.

There was also an earlier issue of the Warezed Fraunhoufer/Radium ACM MP3 codec. By now, LAME is as good as, if not better than Fraunhofer

I dunno about their AAC quality, but I've found iTunes/qAAC to be the best free one, Mainconcept Reference best paid one.

And they have a very roundabout way of saving: recording via a VST/AU. Sound nice?

TL;DR, useless & crap.

 

OR, more realistically, if you know what you're doing you could get great results from such an overpriced tool as well as an improvement in speed and workflow . . . I would have bought this if it was under 100 euros!

Obviously there's some confusion here about HOW to use it properly *no* There's no other tool I know of that let's you adjust your encoding settings in real-time while listening to the aural results of those settings. If you don't understand why that could be extremely helpful and time-saving then you probably don't need it (yet). Professional audio is all about getting the most out of your material at every stage and this is one of those tools that will help you get that little bit more at the authoring stage. I wouldn't listen to junh1024 or Rahjah, some people can't see beyond their own situations and needs . . . ignorance is bliss eh? *yes*
