Last nite i was searchin' for an alternative to the classic ASIO4ALL an' I found this: ASIO4ALL 2.11 mod 1.04

After testing both in DAWbench seems that this mod works smoother than the original one.
The buffer is a little bit capient so you can work with less latency problem.

I'm using these on laptop (w/ mobo audio engine) and now I can mix at 640 without any buzz/crack/pop/etc...
With the untouched I was always on 1024 or more!

I cant say how the mod works, but I can assure that it works (at least for me)!

I find WASAPI to be superior to any stock ASIO driver and ASIO4ALL, but let's give it a try.

 

I'm on the flow dude.. but WASAPI it's not yet supported by some hosts...

 

anyway, is there any solution around like ASIO4ALL for using WDM as WASAPI?

No, it's really every sound card/audio interface that works with Vista or above via WDM drivers.

ASIO4ALL is a universal driver (for interfaces without a real ASIO driver), so is WASAPI. No need to install something else, it's already included in Windows, although there are still just a few Pro Audio applications with WASAPI support (e.g. Sonar X1 and newer), because WASAPI is universal and doesn't support all the extra features of the audio interface, like channel strips, routing, fx, whatever. And since every decent interface has an ASIO driver, there's no need for WASAPI in Pro Audio actually.
