Hi its been a while

I have a pro tools Le 8 which comes with a Mbox 2 Micro

the question is if i buy another mbox .. specifically mbox 2
will it work on Pro tools Le 8?

or my pro tools Le 8 will work on my Mbox 2 Micro only?


any Pro tools LE 8 user here
or anyone who can enlighten me please

Yes, it will work. The MBox is the dongle
It doesn't use iLok, just need to recognize a digidesign interface.

Be aware that MBox 2 is pretty crappy (I own it), don't expect anything better than mBox micro.
Pre sucks and AD/DA converters almost sounds like they're broken, like on almost every digi interface
But, if you need PT8, you have no choice

im not using it on recording though i use it on Post Production..

but having a nice out for monitor and Headphone out
is way much better than a 3.5mm out jack USb interface on micro mbox 2..



i used to have a pro tools 9 then i sold it when they released PT 10 out of frustration..
then i returned to PT 8 .. coz i dont have money to buy PT 10 and 11 haha

been using PT Le 8 on mbox 2 micro for 2 years now
mostly post prod works no problem so far..

i believe having an Audio Box is better than a Usb Stick Interface Audio

 

Yeah, it's not worst, but it's really not a good interface.
For post prod is probably ok though, also for Music, I used it a lot.
Just that the converters and pres sucks, like many other low end interfaces.
Surely it will be better than micro, I was saying just cause in the same price range you may probably find something better,
but if you need PT8, MBox is the only choice

because thats the only choice i have to use Pro Tools Le 8
if not for PT i could have bought a New model interface

btw the mbox 2 is hardware only..it doesnt have the PT LE 8 Software
thats why it comes cheap,,



If only i knew that other mbox 2 can be used..
im stuck here on stick interface sometimes its hassle

as of now im contented on PT LE.
