The media narrative depicts AI as an entity, that it's 'smart', but there's no such thing as artificial intelligence, it's just a stack of algorithms.

Back when marketing executives in America were brainstorming how to sell their product and what to call it, the name was quickly decided upon: AI—Artificial Intelligence.

Consider this: when you buy a pizza, the label doesn't state where the ingredients come from, what damage they cause, or—most importantly—whether the product can be gotten rid of once introduced.

As a consumer, you would have to pay a laboratory to find out exactly what is in it, and then you would need further experts to explain the impact of the supply chain, raw material extraction, and so on.

The bottom line is that AI manufacturers will only report positive things about their product, because their goal is to make money.

Yes, you are always responsible for yourself, regardless of the product. :dunno:

Sure sure, just like he said he was "going to Mars" 3 years ago.

AI needs to be able to count to 100 first, then we'll see about intelligence.

He also said on JRE that within 5-6 years, most media that people consume will be completely AI generated. That statement alone should make you realize Elon has absolutely no clue what he's talking about.

He misses the whole point of why people fall in love with art, what it means to them and why AI can never replace artists. People cannot relate with AI, they can't go on the journey, the ups and downs, the euphoria and heartbreak that happens with real people and real artists.

I could maybe see how kids born in the 2020s and beyond will be more receptive to completely AI-generated media, because it will be all they ever know. But it's still something we cannot predict. And even so, there will always be a demand for artists with DIY punk rock values.

Don't worry about what these people say, just do your best to make the most honest art you can.

I'm blown away by the amount of people I know / have met that believe this is happening. By 2030 is what I think he said.

Stochastic inference is not intelligent. It's useful for sure, but it's no intelligent. AI label is just a hype to make us buy our own demise as the productivity increase it produces goes up the chain and left us poorer. It happened in the industrial revolution with the steam machine as well, same fucking scenario. Let's hope we are cleverer this time to retake it from the olygarchs hands and use ir for the benefit of all instead.

    NEWS FROM ELON MUSK

The AI industry is increasingly hitting physical limits. The next generation of large AI models requires not only better algorithms and more powerful chips but also vast amounts of electricity, cooling, physical space, grid connections, and permits. These very factors are evolving into strategic resources. Whoever resolves these bottlenecks gains not only additional computing power but also control over the industrial foundation of artificial intelligence.

This is where Musk’s vision comes into play. In a recently released video, he outlined plans for SpaceX AI satellites. According to the concepts envisioned by Musk and Starlink executive Ian Dahl, an initial design is intended to achieve a peak output of 150 kilowatts and a continuous output of 120 kilowatts. Musk compares this power level to an Nvidia AI server rack. Power would be supplied by solar panels, while waste heat would be dissipated into space via radiators. Data transmission would be handled via laser communication. *Handelsblatt* editor Thomas Jahn has analyzed Musk’s plans as well as the roughly 300-page stock market prospectus.

It's BS. It will never happen. Musk is a fraud.
