I'm sorry for the following dumb question, but how to run muscriptor? I downloaded the zip file, but I can't see any runner.

The easiest way, without worrying about what you need, is with Pinokio. It will take care of installing everything necessary. Just download the executable file for your operating system, choose the folder where you want everything to be, find the Muscriptor app, and you're done. When you open Muscriptor, it will start with the medium model. If you want the long model, you'll have an option in the menu to download it automatically.

 

I tried with piano and it was really impressive.
Let's say it got 90-95% correct timing and also sustain pedal didn't mask notes except in few passages.

 

Yes, in Cubase Pro 15, it's worked great for me! I tend to do short sections, 4-16 bars max, but works very well, it's quick and I simply drag the MIDI out, the timing is fine too.
It'll always be a problem with delay on audio parts, but I can quickly find the notes I am looking for then clean it up if need be. Certainly better than Melodyne for me.

 

the linked website version is nice, but I have not compared the actual detection accuracy of it to anything else. But I did install the local Mac version of muscriptor using Homebrew to install it, and the needed HF model and other stuff. It was pretty easy. I don't think it is fast enough or better results compared to the web version of it, to be a much better option. Maybe if you have a bunch of files to process, if it has some batching functionality.

 

it is impressive, I am doing quite lot of this kind of thing mainly with Melodyne and also now with that Aurallysound Prism thing, both are pretty good and have served me well but this new one works even on full tracks (without stem splitting) with a good accuracy, it's not always perfect but very very good so far in my testing even with some vintage recorded stuff. Those things I mentioned might have met their match now. Installed on M series Mac and works great there, even with the large model, seems to take advantage of Macs for the processing. Definitely. I just wanted to mention the work vs payout aspect of the local option for a Mac user. You can install it viai Terminal commands to first install Homebrew and it's dependencies, if someone isn't already using it. Then the Hugging Face model and other associated software.
Then making a Hugging Face account, and generating a token to add to HF in Terminal. It's not difficult but I'd say it took me about 15 or 20 minutes. It's similar to setting up and running Demucs and other stem sep programs in Terminal vs using UVR5 application, vs using MVSep, which is backed up by commercial cloud gpus.

The thing with some of these sites and cloud based tools, they are using open source software. Maybe you can't depend on them being around forever, but you can pretty safely guess there will be more of them on the way.

Prism in Cubase and in Logic is a very nice local tool. Logic's internal Flex Pitch audio -> Midi has been pretty decent for quite a while, coupled with the speed of it's stem separation directly in the project is a decent workflow if your goal is just midi data. You don't even have to leave the DAW arrange page.

 

in ableton there is no ARA use Fender Studio Pro and reimport in ableton
