    Hey

    Update on The Glue 2:

I know… we’re slow… but Andy’s been working super hard, and The Glue 2 is coming along very nicely! He’s just working through the last few design decisions. He had a blast building the DIYRE G-Bus Compressor kit, which he did to save time on matching the circuit because each component could be measured before soldering. We’ll share a time lapse of that process soon, plus the audio examples which are looking and - more importantly - sounding spectacular, as you’ve come to expect of any Cytomic product.

Most Importantly: All existing Glue full and discount customers* will get an automatic upgrade!

So, no need to delay if you’ve been holding off purchasing, and likewise, no need to worry if you love v1 and need to keep it, as support will be maintained. An update page with more info will be out this week, and as one of our valued existing customers you’ll be first to know when we have a release date.

    EOFY Sale...?

There are a few wild sales on around the interwebs ATM… so we just wanted to remind everyone of our all-year-round discount deal that we offer to all customers* who’ve spent over $99 with us. Log in to your account to see your discount applied at checkout.

We also wanted to state that we are proudly independent with no venture capital or private equity involvement. Cytomic is here for the long term. And we never have, and never will, charge subscriptions.

    Antipodean Introverts seeking assistance...

We’ve basically spent the past 17 years being antipodean introverts but it’s time to change that. Please help us build momentum ahead of releasing The Glue 2 by telling your muso and producer friends about us, and/or leaving us a review on places like KVR Audio, Gearspace and Equipboard (or anywhere else you like).

Also, we want to celebrate you, our amazing clients, and get to know you better. Tell us what you’re doing, where you are, what you’re working on and how you’re using our plugins. You can reply to this email and/or say hi on our socials, and we’ll say hi straight back!

Makes me very hopeful it's going to blow Nebula out of the water. It is possible, but only a select few can do it. I was very surprised by the latest Kazrog MHB Red, it sounded better than a lot of my Nebula plugins. I have high hopes for The Glue 2, the first one is still one of my favorite plugins.

I got Wes Audio SSL hardware compressor clone this year and damn that is some smooth compression right there, it is hard to put your finger on it, but it breathes in a quite different way than any SSL compressor plug-in. The decays/sustains seem to bloom or lengthen naturally, and everything flows with more musicality and "human" feel — even at just 1 dB of gain reduction. It really does affect groove in positive way as master bus compressor for example. Maybe Glue2 will be a game changer though. I have bought every Cytomic plug-in and they do sound very good. I think the Relab 176 sounds very good for a plugin compressor, but different style than SSL compressor. That said, you can make great music with plug-in compressors and they sound good so this was not against plug-ins. However I was very impressed how the hardware compressor behaves compared to plug-ins.

About The Glue 1? First of all, it's really lightweight, sounds and responds well, has offline oversampling, DC block, updates added stereo unpairing, and that's just to name a few. It's a plugin that works great and sounds great. I suppose the newest version will add saturation options and that's where I expect it to shine and cross the analog barrier.
