This was pretty good! It leaves the possibility for part 2 also.

 

I was amazed, disturbed though simulaniously entranced and could not look away at the dystopian take on Chaplin's masterpiece, The Kid called 2551.01 - The Kid by who seems eternally twisted, an obvious madman, the Austrian Norbert Pfaffenbichler. There is a certain beauty in the horror of all the actors wearing hideous masks that offer no insight to the facial cues of the characters. It's something that needs be experienced and any words that I might parse to attempt to describe the action of this bleak black and white silent film with a wholly apropos, fantastic soundtrack would not give it justice. It is part of a trilogy.

One of the best movies ever made,so many memories & it strikes a chord every time I watch it :

 

TV show but close enough these days. Widow's Bay. About a small island off the East Coast (USA) that has a curse. The show is blends comedy and horror together very well. Definitely had some good chuckles watching it and even an actual laugh, which is harder to do watching a show alone. If you like things like ehh Shaun of the Dead, Cabin in the Woods, Tucker and Dale VS Evil, etc you would like this show.

The Life Of Chuck

I'm not going throw up a trailer in this post for a couple of reasons, the first being honoring the grandfather's wishes in this wonderful film (as played by Mark Hamill...of course of Star War's fame) to not venture into the cupola (you'll see when you watch), and the second because I feel that going into it blindly will let you feel the movie seep into your consciousness as well as your bones the way this adaptation of a Stephen King short story will unwind within you as if you were reading it for the first time without forethought to the storyline...surprising you at certain turns as well as filling you with joy or profound sadness at others. I think that this is in the upper echelon on the many hundreds if not thousands of films I have seen in my life. It's incredibly well cast which for me for the time of my watching helped make the whole film a living, breathing documentation of this fictional story. The tie that binds this three episode move like an SSL buss compressor on the master is the voice over art of Nick Offerman. The retelling in this format wouldn't be nearly the same without his vocal pacing and gut satisfying quality...and he did it for basically nothing but love of the script and actors involved.

 

Life Of Chuck passed under a lot of people's radars I think. An absolute gem of a movie.
