How to stop websites from immediately redirecting me to an new open tab

    How do I stop a website from redirecting me when I click or something like KF when I click the download button? Need a way for it to work on iOS and desktop too but mostly iOS as I don’t use my Mac much for browser based activity

    first of all Portmaster with proper setup;

    next either Brave browser,
    or Firefox/Chrome with uBlock Origin (although Portmaster should be blocking all the same on deeper level)

    Firefox with NoScript is the way to go for blocking JS that hijacks clicks. uBlock also works, but NoScript is super strict.

    Is ublock origin a free extension and one that works with chrome for iOS?

    No. You need Firefox afaik.

    This is not what was asked, especially with the fact that the point of uBlock there is not to block ads, but to block JS with the matrix mode.

    Ublock is free and does work with chrome but only older versions of chrome. The new chrome versions will not allow ublock (or similar blockers that actually work even) to be installed because it does too good a job of blocking their ad garbage.

    Mobile Chrome wouldn't work anyway since it never had add-ons, OP asked for iOS there.
