Lotte Rømer (born December 12, 1950, in Hvidovre; died May 28, 2026) was a Danish musician (piano, guitar, vocals, composition) and author.

Rømer came from a musical family: her parents were music teachers, and her siblings, Hanne and Ole Rømer, are also musicians.[2] From 1958 to 1964, she received violin instruction from the violinist Hans Nissen. In addition, she played the piano and guitar, performing as a child and later in youth orchestras. After graduating from the Rødovre State School in 1970, she completed her studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Music as well as a degree in musicology at the University of Copenhagen.

In 1975, together with Irene Becker, her sister Hanne, and drummer Karen Mortensen, Rømer founded the rock band Hos Anna. As one of Denmark's early all-female bands, they gave one of their first performances at the Women's Festival in Fælledparken, Copenhagen, in August 1975, playing before an audience of approximately 40,000 women; this performance helped establish them as a popular group in Denmark. Serving as a vocalist, pianist, and guitarist, she released two LPs with the group in 1977. Also in 1977, she produced an album with her sister titled *Solskin*. In 1979, C.V. Jørgensen recruited her as a keyboardist for the recording sessions of his album *Solgt til Stanglakrids*.

Beginning in 1979, she performed with her own Lotte Rømer Band and released several albums under her own name. In 1995, she was awarded the Rector Ingrid Jespersen Scholarship by the Danish Women's Society; however, a struggle with tinnitus brought her career as a performing musician to an end. From 1996 to 1998, she served as a member of the Committee for Rhythmic Music at the Danish Arts Foundation. From 2010 to 2020, Rømer directed "The Natural Voice," the corporate choir of the hearing aid manufacturer Widex.

Furthermore, she has composed and arranged a wide variety of songs and choral pieces. In addition, Rømer gave talks on coping with hearing problems, particularly regarding her own experiences with hearing loss and tinnitus. Following two books on the subject of hearing and hearing loss, she published the autobiographical book *Sølvfuglens Vinger* in 2017.

RIP Lotte, She went through every musicians worst nightmare of hearing issues, I personally had issues from performing at extreme sound levels, from the 1960's till the late 90's. I then sought an audiologist for treatments, after 6 months I had significant changes and improvement in my hearing, I was lucky enough that after a year to be able to resume my passion of being able to perform again but now treasure and protect my hearing. Today we can avoid these hearing problems, but back in the early days many musicians ended up with hearing issues or impairments.
Lotte made a short video about her hearing nightmare it has English subs, I recommend watching it.
