hi, i have managed to get loopmash loading in cubase 15,but not the presets.
i have seen a post on steinberg forum regarding it but i cant do part 3.
cant find the folder withthe presets.
i have cubase 8.5 and 11 installed.

If you have instructions for something you want to do and can't figure out, you should post them or at least a link to SB forum page with the info.

 

LoopMash2 in Cubase 12…
1 - Copy “pulseOSC_x64.dll” into Cubase 12 directory in Cubase Folder
2 - Copy “LoopMash_x64.vst3” into “VST3” directory in Cubase Folder
3 - Copy “VST3 Presets” Folder into Cubase 12 Folder… for Preset Mystic - Spector - Prologue - LoopMash

i have done 1 and 2 loopmash opens in cubase 15 but the presets part is where im struggling

 

any clues?

I'm not really sure, but try to put the presets there and see if it works.

I don't know if it's important, but maybe check the mediabay if it is set to scan the location.

icant see that loopmash folder anywhere even though i have loopmash from earlier cubase,which is still installed

 

Here's a trick sometimes I will do for plugins that are "missing presets" due to where the plugin wants to really find them. Open the plugin, and make parameter changes from the default.ini preset. Give it a very unique preset name. Save it inside the preset. Normally you can then hit load preset again, and the folder with that preset stored in it will open up. Then you can hit ALT+Up Arrow to step upwards through the directory tree to see where it actually wants to find your presets. (that keyboard combo is Shift+up arrow on Macs).

Also, since you gave your preset a very unique name, the purpose of that is knowing the name of a single preset you can search your computer for. Or on Windows, you can do *.extension that the plugin uses for it's preset files and search for that extension using the *. as a wildcard.

On Mac, you can usually look at the directory structure of the installer to see where it actually put the files, and sometimes you have to move them all to the real location. Or if you want, create a symlink from the default location to where they really are. That's if you still have the installer. Or usually you can find a .ini or .json file that points the plugin to where you have your presets located, like in Nexus5 as example.

If everything looks right, and still doesn't work, you check the read/write permissions on the folder where they are and fix them. Or again move up the directory tree and then set the same permissions to include all the files and folders below the one you pick, recursively.

Figure out a Windows version of this, because incorrectly located presets are such a common thing and you can almost always fix them easily.
